Dear friends! It's time again to wave our paws - goodbye year 2016, welcome 2017!
I want to thank you all for the year that's gone and I hope you'll be here with me even next yer! Lots of things happened during the year and I made a short summary with a couple of flashbacks.

Bärgit - I'll forward your adress to Juuso when he wakes up. His paintings have sold incredibly well so he really makes money for his living.
Britta-Gudrun - I hardly need any kind of phone because I don't like to talk in the phone because of my bad hearing. It's not so fun to keep repeating 'excuse me, what did you say' or 'could you repeat it, I didn't here what you said'. I rather communicate via email.
Chris - I very seldom 'watch TV' with my knuputor but it's good to have this possibility.
Ludmila - Juuso's exhibition has more visitors than expected. The sold paintings will be there as long as the exhibition goes on. Our bear friend must be happy hearing the good news when he comes out from his den.
Let's raise our glasses to our painting genius Juuso!

A wife of my co-worker paints as hobby. She has nice pictures. Last month she had a small exhibition in the town, where the family live. Many people came to see the pictures, but nobody bought a picture.

Ich hasse abends telefonieren. Es ist einfacher eine kurze Nachricht zu schreiben und gleich eine Antwort, manchmal mit dem Bild zu bekommen.

MERVI - ich nutze Internet Hauptsächlich für ausländische Sender.
z.B. ORF, TV5, BBC oder CNN, die ich über Kabel nicht bekomme.
Merkwürdiger weise kann man Schweizer Fernsehen nicht empfangen:
weil es nicht in der EU ist, erlauben sie SRG bei mir nicht im Internet.

Ich bekenne mich auch zur altmodischen Lebensweise und kann ohne Smartphone sehr gut leben.
Mein uralt Mobile Phone ist außerhaeusig nur eingeschaltet, wenn ich wegen einer Verabredung mit der betreffenden Person erreichbar sein will, weil sich z.B. einer von uns verspaetet.
Wenn ich außer Haus bin, meldet sich mein Anrufbeantworter.
Ich brauche gottlob nicht permanent erreichbar zu sein, weil jemand meine Hilfe benoetigt - das ist fuer mich wertvolle Freiheit und Unabhaengigkeit.
Ich hasse es, wenn ich mich jemandem unterhalte und dessen Handy dauernd klingelt.

Chris, der Vorteil eines Notebooks ist seine Mobilitaet, aber es stimmt, sie sind nicht so langlebig.

I have just published short polar bear news in KWM - there are PHOTOS OF NORD who's coming to Copenhagen and photos of VIENNA AND TANIA in La Palmyre Zoo.
Our smart-TV is the most stupid TV I've ever seen and I'm sure a smart phone - if I ever buy one - would be as stupid.
I just read that Juuso's paintings were sold out within 6 days! The exhibition is a big succes for our painting bear friend!

zu empfindlich. Der von meiner Schwester ist

I do not like to write the long textes because of the small keys.
We have still about 0°C. In the night we will get a light frost. It is winter. The birds eat very well at our feeder.

Bärgit - The weather is something between grey and blue here. - Maybe one of the reasons for the lacking comments in KWM is that many readers are using their phones when they visit the magazine. That, of course, makes it difficult to write anything. I would go nuts ..... Hurray for the 'old fashioned' laptop!
