The silly corona season is still on ..... but baby bear don't care!

Posted by Mervi on August 31, 2020 at 12:15 PM

Dear friends! This Summer has been very 'strange' and the Autumn is going to be the same. However, better times will come even if we must wait with lots of patience! But Patience is our middle name so let's enjoy the late Summer and the Autumn!

Good morning! Guten Morgen!

Chris, Ludmila, Britta-Gudrun - I can only agree with you! I've been looking forward to the day I can visit the zoo but now I know I will never visit that bloody (bloody in every meaning of the word!) zoo again! If there's not enough space for the animals - why the hell did they bring the pandas there and build a large enclosure for them? Excuse me for my language but I'm so angry and disappointed.

To make us feel better I published a nice article of ANNA AND ELSA IN BREMERHAVEN in KWM. Very interesting!

I wish everybody a pleasant Tuesday! Take care!

Ludmila - I'm furious about the killing in Copenhagen again! I thought they had become better but no, they consider animals like 'things', When they're no longer wanted they are killed. I will never visit that zoo again! Now I'm worried of many other animals.

Ralph - Thank you for the update!

Good day! Guten Tag! Again I've had a busy morning so I'm very late here. Luckily Uncle Sergej served me a nice brunch prepared by Madame Nini. There are some left-overs for you if you're hungry. :D

Ralph - Thank you for the information. I will forward it to my mother although she'll have a back surgery on Wednesday so I think I wait until after that. - If only people would live according to the restrictions ..... Christmas Markets and many Winter activities have been cancelled here, too.

Ludmila - I already saw a couple of photos from Brocken in FB. The nature looks wonderful!

Britta-Gudrun - The statistics of the covid-19 cases don't look good - not only in Germany but in most countries. I must say that Finland has managed reasonably well so far. Sweden is a disaster! - I don't understand why the trolls must post here! What's the point?

Dave - The coming Christmas will certainly be different from the 'ordinary' family gatherings. For us it doesn't make any difference because we're always home with the cats.

Chris - We're predicted a rainy week but no snow so far. :D

In KWM you can meet LOUNA'S GORILLA BABY in MoniK's report. Cuteness alarm is announced!

Have a good week and a pleasant Monday! Take care!

Ich wuensche einen guten Start in die neue Woche!

Good Evening.

I went out for a nice long walk today. When I got home there was an email from friends about meeting for enchiladas. So I went there for 5:00PM and the place was pretty bare. I was glad to do my bit to help a local business while visiting with my two friends.

I was talking to my mom's sister and she said that her kids don't want to get together for our family Christmas Eve. I sure hope that we can get my mom out for Christmas Day. She has missed Easter, her birthday, Mother's day, the family BBQ and Thanksgiving. Precious time that she can't get back.

So far only the hotspots like Ottawa and the Greater Toronto Area(GTA)have been dialled back to partial closings. My area is still below the 2.5% threshold but we are getting more than 10 new cases per day and that puts us on the watch list. They are blaming Thanksgiving for the increases across the country, but it is the 20-39 year olds that are the majority of cases due to their habit of congregating in groups at parties.

Ralph - The 3 Ds are a good procedure to follow.

Now I am here for a Knight cap..

Have a good Knight.

You can read about the London Winter Wonderland cancellation here.
I have been following my three Ds rules since March
Distance: Stay as far away as you can from other people, at least a meter (3 feet).
Duration: If you find yourself in a crowded place or people stay there for less then 15 minutes.
Dosage: Protect your mouth, nose and eyes if you have to be in a crowded place. A mask and eyeglasses helps to reduce the dose of virus you might give out to or get from other people.
Stay safe. Look after yourself. Help keep others safe.

Mervi the rules for people living in Nottingham are posted here.
It is likely in the next few weeks that all major towns and cities in England like Oxford will have to follow these rules.
I would normally be looking forward to me and BN going to London to visit the big shops and the Christmas market in Hyde Park. I am just glad I used the window between the two waves to make my trips.
I must read Annemarie's menu and join in an after dark drink with Uncle Sergej.

Britta-Gudrun - It really is amazing to see Sulo and the big Juuso together. There's such a strong bond between them.

Dave - We switched our clocks on Saturday evening so we're up-to-date. :D We don't notice the Halloween so much even during 'ordinary years' and this time there's hardly anything.

Chris - As usual I'm the only one liking the dark evenings. :D This Winter will be like the Spring was - many countries are locking down or at least have more restrictions. I don't think there will be Christmas Markets here either. - My mother is used to have the kids far away. One of my brothers lived many years in Brussels when he worked for EU. Now he has home both in Finland and in Spain. Of course, he's staying in Finland now because of the covid-19 situation in Spain.

GUTEN ABEND

Again we had a pleasant, warm day. :)
Unfortunately its dark very early now.
Next sunday November starts its
grey season - I do not like it....
In the moment we have
fall colours, but that
is over very quickly.

The Frankfurt Weihnachtsmarkt is
cancelled for this year. I think, it
will be a depressing winter-
season with all the
covid rules.

ANNEMARIE - Du praesentierst wieder tolle Leckereien!
Der Rotbarsch mit dem Risotto war heute meine Wahl. :)
Uncle Sergej hat mir eine grosse Portion aufgewaermt.

MERVI - there are many funny names for our generation.
I did not know, that your sister lives in England. It must be
hard for your mother, that her daughters are so far away...

DAVE - I think, we will have many more unemployed
people all over the countries. The statistics of covid
are rising and rising - the next lock-down is near. :(
It is a total mess and catastrophy for many workers.

Wuensche einen geruhsamen Ausklang des Sonntags!

Good Morning.

It is grey and 1C here in Waterloo. I am afraid that this weather is here to stay. It is getting harder to get out for walks, since I was spoiled from May to September with beautiful hot and sunny days. Oh well. The season changes are part of life.

Have you turned your clocks back in Europe already? We don't do that until Nov.1st. Usually we are a few weeks ahead of you.

So far Hallowe'en hasn't been cancelled here in Ontario, except for certain Covid hotspots. I have not bought any candy yet. I'll wait until the end of the week to see if there is a change. Buying candy now would only add to my waistline. :)

I'm off for a walk before it rains(or snows?)..

Have a peaceful Sunday.
