Chris - The panda twins are adorable! They are already very agile climbers, too! :D

Ludmila - How about a refreshing fruit drink? I think we need lots of vitamines this time of the year. :D

MERVI - Lumi wuerde mir gut gefallen,
Lumikki ist auch huebsch. Ich hoffe,
sie werden einen besonderen Namen
waehlen. Nanook, Nanuq usw. haben
wir jetzt wirklich genug... ;)

Paules Interesse daran geweckt."

Chris - I have, of course, lots of name suggestions for Ranzo's and Nora's baby. I think Lumi would be a good name. It's short so it's easy to remember and easy to pronounce. Or maybe Lumikki which means Snow White. I guess Evi will have an Estonian name and it would be OK, too. I just hope it will NOT be Nanook!! :D

Ralph - I hope we can visit Noel and her baby but it's best to wait a little. The 'early days' the zoo will be crowded and I wouldn't see anything because I lack sharp elbows. :D

Great to see Noel's little cub. I hope to see them as I did with Lynn and Imaq last year.
Wishing everyone a safe and sound weekend.

Ich habe meine Tour heute schon mittags gemacht,
weil die Sonne so schoen schien. Es ist aber immer
noch recht windig. Am Wochenende soll es wieder
ziemlich warm werden, allerdings auch nass. ;)

Die kleinen Baerchen entwickeln sich prima.
Auch Noels Kind ist schon sehr aktiv. :)

Hat jemand eine Idee fuer Ranzos Baby?
Wir sollen dort ja einen Namen finden ! :)

Good morning! Guten Morgen! Today the sun is shining so we took a long walk - well, long for us! :D It's still very windy and rather chilly but the fresh air did us good.

Ludmila - Herkules tastes good after a walk!

Britta-Gudrun - It's very kind of you to write comments in KWM despite of the pain in your hand. I hope it's getting better.

Next Thursday is the International Polar Bear Day and the Copenhagen Zoo will give Nöel a chance to present her baby to the visitors. You can see a little article in KWM.

I wish everybody a pleasant Friday!

Uncle Sergej has created a drink and calls it after John Lennon's 'All we are saying is give peace a chance'. I can only agree!

Der Mann war psychisch krank. Solche Leute haben durch Internet viele Moeglichkeiten unterschiedliche Verschwoerungstheorien zu finden. Seine Motivation war politisch.
The act in Hanau was political. The man was ill, but his motivation was xenophobia.
It is not a job for Poirot. It is a job for politics.
Let us drink on the people, who do not hate the other people.

RALPH - diese Morde sind Folge einer Saat,
die unverantwortliche Politiker in Deutschland
taeglich ausbringen.
nen Kulturen hatte. Ich bin froh, dass auch
unser Praesident das erkannt hat und ge-
kommen ist. Wir alle in der Region sind
heute sehr traurig... :(

I am able to give one bit of positive encouragement as someone who worked for the UK Government, the Law Enforcement people in our countries will try their best to cooperate whatever the politics. The spirit of Poirot and Inspector Japp is alive and well in the clever and often very young people who work in those services. Murder is a crime not a political act. Honest Police are hard at work in all our countries day in day out.

Ralph - Wow! What travel plans you've made! I'm out of breath! :D

Ludmila, Chris - It's really frightening that a 'normally' behaving person is a cruel murderer. It's impossible to know .... And I'm afraid there will be more tragedies of this kind. Angela Merkel said 'Racism is a poison. Hatred is a poison'. Unfortunately the poison is spread all over the world these days.

I know the City of Hanau very well.
Friends are living there. We are all
shocked about the murder of so
many friendly persons. :(
There will be a demonstration in
the evening - it seems, that the
tragedy was a right-wing hate
crime of a mental ill moron.
I have no words... :(

It is a terrible tragedy in Hanau.

I wish you a good journey. Maybe the weather will be nice at the end of March.

I have booked my travel for the most ambitious programme of visits I have made since 2016.
Starting in March
24th Tuesday Copenhagen
25th Wednesday
-27th Friday Aalborg
28th Saturday Bremerhaven
29th Sunday to Berlin
31st Tuesday
1 April Gelsenkirchen and/or Wuppertal

The last day is based on the fact that the bears in both Gelsenkirchen and Wuppertal are sometimes very quiet or off show.

I am making a lot of overnight train journeys but the result, if it works, will be two air journeys avoided (no use of Tegel and its grumpy passport/security staff). On the down side I only get one day in Copenhagen.. But it does mean that I get to see Kati as soon as I can and may also catch the girls in Aalborg.

Because of the terrible weather in Yorkshire my March visit to Doncaster is postponed until April, which is another good reason for the timetable above.
