Die Knuipe

The silly corona season is still on ..... but baby bear don't care!

Posted by Mervi on August 31, 2020 at 12:15 PM

Dear friends! This Summer has been very 'strange' and the Autumn is going to be the same. However, better times will come even if we must wait with lots of patience! But Patience is our middle name so let's enjoy the late Summer and the Autumn!

Good morning! Guten Morgen! It's raining and the weather is very much like it usually is this time of the year. Baby bear don't care!

Britta-Gudrun - Thank you for keeping us updated about your hedgies. It's a good sign they're having a good appetite. - I have to take pain killers and walk with sticks but being a Freiherrin I can take it easy. :D

Ludmila - It's good to know that even your hedgies are doing fine.

Ralph - I'm delighted to notice that your reports have resulted in more visitors from the Great Britain than before! :D

Have you missed VERA AND NANUQ? Now you can meet them in MoniK's report in KWM.

I wish everybody a most pleasant TDT!

Good morning! Guten Morgen!
We have still the sun shine. Our hedgehogs eat very well :)
Speedy is still outside, but we prepared her aquarium.

Guten Morgen!

No sooner am I safely home than I decide I have to visit Raspi in Doncaster this weekend. I hope to get Friday afteroon and all day Saturday at YWP. Photographing is never easy at YWP as the bears are so far away. But seeing them live is the main purpose for all my trips, and the photography is only a way of remembering things for my reports. Sadly the best shots are the ones I miss.
In Hanover Melania, sorry Milana had been about to jump fir ages but kept changing her mind. I was moving away from a growing crowd at the window when she flew nearly to the viewing glass.
It has been a tense time fixing up these visits. Although my excellent travel agent did the flights and hotels, I had to use my Knuphone to book the Zoos though I did use the Library computer to print the tickets.
Sadly Flickr and the new Microsoft Edge system the Library uses coupled with short sessions have halted my attempts to save Knutis Weekly and the Knuipe which stopped in March.
I will raise a glass with you tonight.

Good morning! Guten Morgen! The sun is shining but my ischias didn't allow me to sleep well so I'm very tired. No morning walk today ...

Dumba - I admired your first September photos and liked them all. Of course, Shorty is the biggest star - next to you, of course. :D - It was great to see photos of Inge, too.

Yeo - A boat tour sounds like a good way to spend a day.

Ludmila - I guess Speedy's 'holiday outdoors' is soon over.

Britta-Gudrun - You're right, we don't have to travel so far, there are a lot of things we can do in our own cities and villages.

Ralph - Did you dream of polar bears last night? :D

In KWM you'll find Gudrun's report from Rostock with lovely photos of AKIAK, NORIA AND SIZZEL and, naturally, even other sweet animals.

Have a happy Hump Day!

Hello dear Knuipians!

@ Mervi
I agree with you in all your words about TD and Knut. IT was a wonderful time, but to short.

The 22nd of September 2008 is one of those days we will never forget. The sad news from Berlin was a terrible chock for us all. Now we have only memories of Thomas Dörflein and Knut but what wonderful memories they are! It was a privilege to be a part of that special aera.

Dumba - The not-Shorty is very cute, too!

Ralph - I'm sure Katjuscha wanted to say a 'nice goodbye' to you. - I guess you're already home with the Cotswold bears. What a fantastic journey you've had!

Britta-Gudrun - The good news of the hedgies were exactly what I needed today! - I hope Monika will make a report soon again.

Now I wish everybody a good night and sweet dreams!

I am now on the bus to Oxford from the airport.
September used to be my month for travelling to Berlin until 2008 when Thomas Doerflein died just after I had visited.
The following year until 2011 I made the journey to celebrate Knut's birthday and in 2011 to remember him with some of you here. I did not get back to Berlin until 2015.
Tonight I am just grateful that I could get to Antibes and to Hamburg, Bremerhaven, Hannover and Berlin.
I patted Knut's Dreamer statue with the back of my hand. I do not know when, but I will be back.

When I arrived at Katjuscha's enclosure this morning she was nowhere to be seen. Then I saw her standing in the water. What a farewell present. An hour of Kati in the water.

Luckily everything sounds really good at the moment here and among all of you.
I lift my hat for all what you are achieving with success:

Ralph his big voayage
Mervi her normal full 'Knutitours'-program
Britta-Gudrun her hedgies and her Django (back in love to her :-) )
Ludmila her Speedy and the cat gang + of course 1000 other projects ;-)
Annemarie-Berta her guest of her last residence with doggie, meetings here and there,
her KBT-Sunday-bullelin-Project and - last not least - her home-projects

Re: Mervi "2:49 PM on September 20, 2020"
No, it was not Shorty who did walk me and not that day
but another lovely doggie did it on Sunday in Potsdam:

Good day! Guten Tag! It's been a rather busy morning with all kinds of things - shopping among others. The sun is shining again but the nature starts looking Autumn like.

Ralph - You've had a fantastic week meeting so many beloved polar bear friends. I wish you a good time with Katjuscha and a safe pleasant flight back home.

Ludmila - I'm a bit late for the morning Herkules but for me any time is Herkules time! :D

Britta-Gudrun - You're doing a fantastic job with the hedgie family!

In KWM you can join FLOCKE AND THE KIDS in a pool party in Ralph's report. :D

Have a pleasant Tuesday!
