Welcome Fall with rain!

Posted by Mervi on September 7, 2022 at 4:15 AM

Dear friends! This Summer has been extremely warm - or rather extremely hot. The nature is still suffering from the dry weather but let's hope the Fall will be more merciful!

pektable Frau, was man von vielen ihrer Fa-

bald an William übergeben, vielleicht,
wenn dessen Kinder groß sind... :)

Zu deinen historischen Vergleichen
äußere ich mich hier nicht mehr: das
würde zu weit führen und wir werden
uns da sowieso nicht einig... ;)

Wünsche trotz herbstlicher Anmutung
allen ein gemütliches Wochenende !
Es gibt ja kein "schlechtes Wetter"
sonder nur falsche Kleidung...
(altes Sprichwort)

MERVI - die Spannung steigt.
Ich wünsche dem neuen Magazin
und seiner Editorin viel Glück ! :)
Mögen Trolle einen weiten Bogen
um KWM und Knutitours machen.

Ludmila You are right to say that àll of our countries share great economic and oolitical problems.
The Queen tried to bring people together with kindñess and respect. Even Paddington being a bear brought out these qualities in that short fiom. Charles is also a kind man who treats people with respect. We.need those virtues more than ever.

I think Queen Elizabeth was a very special person.
You are right, the killing of the royal family in Russia did not lead to democracy either. On the other hand, the Queen had no political influence in Great Britain. Just like the USA, Germany and many other EU countries, Great Britain has political and economic problems now.
I am curious of your new magazine.

Hello Dear All,
Yesterday evening when I read about the passing away of Queen Elisabeth, it made me very silent.
As a very young queen, she promised to serve her people and nation and after 70 years, history has proven that she has kept her promise. She has served them in good times and in bad times and to her best efforts. And now, she herself became part of history. However, I think that she started to die at the day of the passing away of her husband, every day a little more.
She was the Queen but she ruled as a woman and as a mother, with a warm and caring heart. Like Ralph wrote, she was not a political figure, but her influence and impact on political matters can never be underestimated. And where politicians often show a lack of good common sense, she was always able to continue fulfilling her promise, to keep her people united as good as could be and to demonstrate her big sense of humour. Show me one person on earth having tea time with Paddington Bear without becoming ridiculous. But most of us who saw that, were just in awe for this grandeur, irrespective our ages.
I wish King Charles III all the best and it is almost for sure that he will not have an easy time.

Dear Mervi, WAAAAW!!! Now I am curious for next week to see the new KWM and if I do not sleep well during the coming nights, I will hold you liable.
Hope you all can also enjoy a wet and rainy Friday.

Mervi, I look forward to the new magazine!

Ralph, I can well understand the grief of your compatriots and always found the Queen very human and sympathetic and not at all aristocratically aloof. On the contrary, as a mother she had the same problems with her children as other mothers. With her consistent and difficult decision, due to the incidents with her son Edward and grandson Harry, to deprive them of offices and privileges, she showed true greatness and did not "take advantage" of her rank.
To me, the hype at the time about Diana was and remained much more alien....

I have nothing to do with the monarchy of any country, but the Queen was the most respected representative of her country worldwide and which politician or politician can claim that?
REST IN PEACE, Queen Elizabeth!

REST IN PEACE, Queen Elisabeth!

Germany only removed the Kaiser after a revolution to overthrow a militaristic autocracy that had waged a war of aggression against Belgium, France and Russia and been defeated..
The democracy that was created in 1919 led to the election of the greatest mass murderer in human history as its head of state.
The postwar West Germany was as much the creation of American and British military governments as those few brave Germans who had resisted the Nazis.
II am sorry to be harsh but I will take no lectures about constitutional monarchy from a German.

Jahre ueberlebt (gleicher Jahrgang).Ich finde,
das ist ein sehr ehrenwertes Alter !
Moege sie in Frieden ruhen...

Ludmila, Mervi. Thank you for thinking of us here today.
Perhaps the most important thing was she was a woman and a mother rather than a political figure.
Politicians however well intentioned cannot help dividing people. The Queen was despite all the pomp and ceremony a kind woman who enjoyed animals and people and brought a smile to people of all ages.
The Monarchy has survived a King being executed by Parliament and many foolish and unfortunate Kings. Perhaps it was that the Queen was a woman that made her so much of a part of our lives.
Charles will have.a hard task ahead. He has strong views which unlike the Queen he has made public. But he also has shown great compassion for people.
All modern republics were born in wars or revolutions. The most successful and powerful, the United States, is only a few centuries old. Like West Germany it chose to have a written constitution to which its people owe allegiance rather than to a person.
It may be that in the years to come Britain will be faced like those two countries with a crisis which calls for a written constitution and a new form of government. But for the time being we have come to appreciate the humanity of this privileged but chaotic family. No politician could have tea with Paddington Bear and bring warmth to a troubled people.

It is a difficult day for you and for Great Britain. The Queen has been there for so long that we have all experienced only her as the head of the Royal Family. Life goes on. Long live King Charles III.

Queen Elizabeth is dead - one aera has ended. I'm not a royalist but she's always been there so it's difficult to think of England without her.

Chris - I'm glad to hear the situation is a little better now in your area. - Enjoy your prize!

Patricia - The Fall has always been a kind of 'revival' for me. For other people Spring gives a kick. :D

Britta-Gudrun - I hope the weather will be as normal as possible for this time of they year.

Good Afternoon!

Good morning! Guten Morgen! Grocery shopping is done so I can spend the rest of the day with nicer activities. :D

Chris - Congratulations for being numero uno on this thread. I hope the title will inspire Madame Esther and make her very generous. :D - Of course, you'll get a glorious prize, too. Uncle Sergej will prepare an after-bike for you whenever you like! Isn't that great?

Patricia - After a dry period raindrops really are music for our ears.

Ludmila - Good to hear you had rain, too!

I wish everybody a pleasant TDT. Take care! I'm off to the editor's room to learn more about the new way to insert photos in the magazine.

Good morning Dear All,
Even this night, we got rain. Funny that nowadays, we are happy when it is raining, but most probably, we will start to dislike it after a few wet days. But this night, when I heard the raindrops falling on the roof, it was kind of a lullaby, albeit that there was a certain discord in the music, created by a nasty mosquito!
Chris, yesterday, I was thinking exactly the same: hopefully there are still nice sunny days to come til the end of October. Indeed, this Summer was very hot but apart of the serieus lack of water, it is a Summer worth to remember with all the sunshine.
Wishing you all a nice day.

MERVI - dein Titel ist Programm :)
Es regnet draußen und zwar stetig.
Und das Regenradar zeigt mehr
Regen im ganzen Süden von D.

But I also hope for some warm
late summer days till Oktober.
Indeed the summer was hard
this year. Hopefully not the
new normal: maybe we ll get
a cold winter, who knows...
