The silly corona season is still on ..... but baby bear don't care!

Posted by Mervi on August 31, 2020 at 12:15 PM

Dear friends! This Summer has been very 'strange' and the Autumn is going to be the same. However, better times will come even if we must wait with lots of patience! But Patience is our middle name so let's enjoy the late Summer and the Autumn!

Good morning! Guten Morgen! Dear fluffy angel - today is your special day again. Be happy in your Bear Heaven!

I've been struggling with my 'läppi' again and finally my old friend is cooperating with me. Please, keep your fingers crossed it will stay that way!

Yeo - Thank you for the Herkules! I really need it - as black and strong as possible! :D

Britta-Gudrun - The corona situation makes it almost impossible to make plans but we must keep up the optimistic mind.

Because the news these days aren't very good I though we could remember our Knut (and his friends) with a smile on our faces. That's why I republished a story from 2009. Are you curious to know what happened when Knut, Flocke and Raspi had Gordon Ramsay in their kitchen?

I wish everybody a good start of this week and a happy Monday! Take care!

Patricia - I'm so sorry to hear the sad news of Fleur. Thank you for telling some nice memories of your beautiful cat to us. She is now in the Cat Heaven playing with Miffe, Al, Ferdi and all our pets that have crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Soft hugs to you and gentle taps to all your cats.

Dumba - Thank you once again for the research! Hmm, I think it's very true!

Ludmila - I hope the weather is better in Sicily than in the rest of Europe.

Oh no, dear PATRICIA, I feel sorry for you. All those losses in a rather short period of time!
Hopefully you will b able to cope with this next sad story in your life. Life is so strange sometimes - and such I hope that all the mourning will give you unexpected extra strength and force through all the nice memories that will also come to your mind beside all the sadness.. . I cross my fingers for your re-gaining more personal health again not too far from today!

Hello Dear All, another stormy day here in Belgium.
World Animal Day, but a very sad one for me. Today, I have lost my pretty Fleur. I know that she was already pretty old and most people would say: be glad that she became that old. But, sharing more than 17 years together is a long period and it leaves a deep lock in my soul. I still remember the Saturday afternoon, August 2, 2003, when 2 small kids were ranging at my door bell and asking whether I would like to have another cat. Frankly said, no; but before one of us could move, she jumped out of their arms and started to inspect the hallway. Before I could look up, kids were gone and there I was with another little kitten. Since she had been searching for her mother in despair, her voice was totally broken. For such a small animal, she was not meowing like a cat should, but howling like a cow. Never heard such deep noise for such a small animal. But after all, she was very self-confident and rather cheeky. Because she was soo wild, one of my other older cats (formerly belonging to my mother), decided to learn her some manners and gave her a good clack on her nose. Fleur always had the scar of that (but good manners, she did not really learn). After all, she was the cat with the beautiful celadon eyes. Notwithstanding her moods, she was loved and respected by all other cats. And she also played a kind a of key part in my fantasy stories with regard to the polar bears (especially Raspi). I am already missing her.

Hallo - Hallo! - Sonntag, 4.

Good morning! Guten Morgen!

Annemarie - You can be proud of your team! They are professional breakfast/brunch makers. - Raspi, Wolodja and Uncle Sergej recommended the 'Schaschlik-Spiesse mit Tomaten-Paprika-Sauce' so, naturally, that's my dinner choice today! :D Thank you for another great Sunday bulletine!

Ludmila - I wish you and Uwe a great time in Sicily.

Chris - The motto is very wise! What a pity most people never learn anything from the past .... but we can always hope.

Britta-Gudrun - A 'crane caravan' is a certain sign of that the Autumn is here.

It was a long time ago since we saw photos of RANZO in KWM but thanks to Dumba's research I could publish ElaNürnberg's pics from her visit in Vienna. You can admire my Finnish Viking in our magazine today!

I wish everybody a most pleasant Sunday!

Ich machte mir also keine Sorgen.

We are in Italy at Sizilia now. The trip was planed for Eastern :) It is very nice here.

Patricia - Thank you for the recipee! - I have always relied on the unprintable words when there are problems of the technical sort. :D

Ralph - Thank you for the emails! I hope my laptop will behave even tomorrow so I can start drafting a report. - I'm glad knowing there will be lots of good stuff coming!

Patricia Your meal sounds so delicious but also full of very healthy ingredients.
I have sent Mervi a very short report about YWP with a second part to come. I am going to take much longer to sort out the photos from Germany.and there are still many to come from Marineland. But it is going to be a long Winter so I hope they will cheer us all up.

Good evening Dear All,
Today, after being miserable for more than a week, I decided to start cooking again. As you may recall, since I retired, I promised Ronald and Karin to take care of the Saturday dish. Na ja, last week was not the best moment but today was a better time. And here is the recipe: easy to make but somehow asking some time.
For the sauce: onions and garlic chopped in very thin slices and stewed in some olive oil. Then adding sweet peppers (small slices again), carrots (idem ditto), small tomatoes, zucchini and fresh parsley. Adding some pepper and salt and Italian herbs and a bit of white wine and letting it stew for a few hours.
Fresh spinach stewing during a few minutes (or cooking if you like so), making sure that all the liquid is out of it. And that takes some time. Meanwhile, mingling minced meat (in my case, chicken mince) with 100 gr. of feta and 100 gr. of ricotta and when all the water is out of the spinach, adding it and carefully mixing it with the meat and feta and ricotta. That is taking some time but it is very important. Then making small balls of this all and rolling them through breadcrumbs. Let these balls rest for about one hour in the fridge and then slowly baking them in some good butter.
When the meatballs and the sauce are reading, start cooking pasta (according to your liking, this evening, I have opted for Greek pasta).
Ah well, we all liked it (and the cats as well).
Mervi, when things are not working like they should, using unprintable words is always the best solution. And it is just amazing how fast they start â??behavingâ??, isnâ??t it.
I wish all our German friends a good and peaceful Remembrance Day.

Hello again! I've been trying to make my knuputor work almost all day. When I was about to give up and started looking for laptops in Internet (in Vesa's laptop) my oldie suddenly decided to function again. Hmmm, do knuputors understand my unprintable words .... :D

There are some years we remember very well (for instance 1968, 2007, 2011) and this year will certainly be one of them. What an odd year this is!

Anita has been in touch with Hellabrunn and she told me Giovanna is very calm. That lady is very selfconfident and doesn't let anything or anybear disturb her calm. :D - Anita will visit Munich on the 13th of October so I'm sure we will get a report then.
