What an unusual Spring this is!

Dear friends! In the previous thread I was wondering what the Spring would be like this year. Now we know it's most 'odd' due to the covid-19 virus. The world isn't the same it was only a few weeks ago. I hope we will all stay in good health and keep an optimistic mind. Better times will come - sooner or later!

Good morning! Guten Morgen! The Easter Monday is already here!
Annemarie - How great to find your breakfast bulletine here again! It makes things to look a bit more 'normal'. Your team took a little time-out from their vacation which, of course, is very generous of them.
Our Knuipe looks very nice with all the Easter decorations. What luck the covid-19 hasn't stand a chance to enter in our head quarters!! Uncle Sergej and his Bear Army are ready to fight any virus! - 'Schnitzel "Wiener Art" mit Bechamel-Kartoffeln und Gurkensalat' because it makes me think of my special polar bear family in Vienna. - Thank you so much for this charming Easter bulletine! I wish you and your husband a pleasant time in Berlin despite the difficult times!
Chris - You're right! We can be happy to be alive and have everything we need ... and even more! I'm thinking of all the poor refugees who are staying in miserable camps - most of them without any hope for a better future. We just have to follow certain rules.

Es ist eine Freude, die tierischen Freunde wieder einmal
vereint zu sehen. Ich habe mir fuer mittags eine Portion
Krustenbraten reservieren lassen - US hebt sie mir auf.

Horrido!/Morgen-Bulletin:
Herkules-Kaffee, Samowar-Tee sowie Croissants sind frisch aufgetischt.
Das morgendliche Wiedersehen war herzerwaermend. Alle haben sich riesig gefreut, fuer die so spezielle ehrenamtliche Arbeit endlich wieder vereint zu sein. In den Zoos meiner Kollegen ist ja zurzeit nichts los. Sie sind also eigentlich im Urlaubsmodus.
Nach getaner Arbeit (QC und Befuellung des Food Safes) gab es zuerst ein reichhaltiges Fruehstueck fuer uns. Dann bat ich meine Kollegen, mit mir den Osterschmuck ein wenig aufzufrischen.
Raspi, Wolodja und Ludwig liefen in den Knugarden, um reichlich frische Zweige zu besorgen. Das machten die Drei ganz prima. Ich hoerte sie von weitem scherzen und lachen und freute mich, dass sie wohl viel Spass zusammen hatten. Sie halfen mir noch die Zweige in Vasen zu verteilen. So konnte das neue Aufhaengen der vielen bunten Ostereier und kleinen Holzfiguren flott erledigt werden. Allerdings das war mehr meine Arbeit. Die Pranken meiner tierischen Kollegen sind fuer solch Filigranes nicht wirklich geeignet.
Schnell waren die Knuipe-Raeume wieder wunderschoen fuer die jetzige Osterzeit frisch geschmueckt. - Zufrieden mit dem gemeinsamen Dekorations-Werk tranken wir anschliessend im Kaminzimmer noch eine heisse Schokolode und unser Ludwig genehmigte sich einen riesigen Eimer Zitronen-Limo. Zum Abschied reichte ich jedem als Dankeschoen zwei grosse Schokohasen. Den einen vertilgten sie sofort und den anderen packten sie sich in ihre bereits sehr volle Provianttasche. Fuer spaeter, wenn der kleine Hunger kommt, witzelten sie und lachten ansteckend herzlich.

celebrate her 60.birthday. We are friends
for over 40 years now and I will follow
her in 10 days. So we had a little

Och, liebe BRITTA-GUDRUN - so viel Humor wirst Du MIR doch hoffentlich noch zutrauen, dass ich da garantiert nichts anderes verstanden oder gar in den falschen Hals bekommen habe!!!!? . . . Ich bin schockiert, bestuerzt, verwirrt . . . you name it ;-))))
Happy Easter from Project Polar South in Kidlington. I have had ham pasta with mayo followed by Pancakes and a Cadburys Easter Egg with a Peter Rabbit soft toy ( he is playing with all the cubs in the creche).
The Knutis Weekly report from Bremerhaven is great. This year would have been my fifth visiting cubs since May 2016 when I visited Lili. I try not to think that there may be no more visits but rather thank goodness that they are all recorded in Knutis Weekly and more recently since 2017 on my phones.
Lloyd is probably feeling a bit down at the moment, facing another 2 years away from his beloved Valeska so he and I have something in common.

Dave - Even here we can see old sport events. - I'm glad to hear your aunt and uncle are doing reasonably well. I hope they will recover totally soon!

The Novosibirsk Polars are just the thing to cheer us up. The cubs really love Gerda and follow her every move.
The videos from the Zoo remind us that the keepers have to go to work come what may. I think it would be nice to drink to everyone who has to go to work to look after animals wherever they are.

It is grey, windy and 2C here in Waterloo. It is like a ghost town here due to the holiday weekend. Most people are staying home except for walks.
As an industrial maintenance mechanic I am used to organising things. Scheduling shutdown of a machine, ordering parts, materials and equipment for the job and working under time constraints is one facet of my trade. Also, if I didn't plan daily jobs, I would sleep in, eat more, drink more and get lazy. I know that when the time comes to go back to work I will be busy with some physically demanding jobs, so I need to keep active for however long I am unemployed.
Patricia - It is good to hear that your health is starting to improve. Keep up the fight. My aunt and uncle have mild symptoms at this time. Light cough or slight fever.
Since there are no sports to watch, the channels have been broadcasting games from the past. I have been re-watching the Toronto Blue Jays' two consecutive World Series Championships from 1992 and 1993. Stanley Cup and Super Bowl games are played again as well. It is fun to watch some of the players who have been retired for years.
Since I did my chores through the week, my Saturdays and Sundays are free, the way they should be.
Have a great Saturday.
