Dave, I don't want the wolves that close to the house...

Sunny(!) GOOD MORNING on MARCH 1st, 2020!

Wanna sing a song or two?

'Im Maerzen der Bauer die Roesslein einspannt'

'Alle Voegel sind schon da'

Hoffen wir, dass uns die Symbolik der 'IDEN des MAERZ' erspart bleibt!

Have a good day and month of MARCH all/e!

Mervi - A Wolf's Paw sounds like exactly what I need to warm up.

This video will give you chills. :)

Have a Good Knight.

Chris - Uncle Sergej recommends his 'Wolf's Paw' this evening. He says there are lots of vitamines in the lingon berries ..... :D

Ludmila - I can understand if the people in Novosibirsk are looking forward to the Spring after a white Winter. Gerda, Kai, Shauna and Nordi don't mind the snow. :D

Chris - Wow! You've seen a butterfly already! So many animals are very 'early' this season so let's hope there won't be any 'Vargavinter' weather now!

Dave - Well, you can't complain about the lack of the snow - maybe on the contrary! :D - I've been following a Canadian series 'Burden of Truth' on TV and it's very good - a bit different to many other series. Soon we will even see new episodes of Murdoch so we are going Canadians at the moment. :D - Good luck with the speaker!

Ralph - Thanks to Steve King's 'announcement' of your report of Antonia there has been an invasion of readers from U.K. in KWM! I hope at least some of them will come back, too! :D - I hope your travel plans can still be carried out!

Dave we have had miserable rain and grey all the time apart from a day of sun here and there.
The virus seems to be getting more widespread. I am beginning to doubt if I will even be allowed to do my trip on 24 March. Then if this goes on into Summer I will miss seeing cubs when they are small.
It is very depressing.

Good Morning.

Belated birthday greetings to Leti. I hope that you had a great time on your special day.

I was out of bed early this morning and went right outside to shovel the fresh coating of snow that fell overnight. The sun is shining and the temperature is -16C. It is nice to hear the birds chirping and the cardinals singing. This past week we have been in the tight, cold grip of Old Man Winter. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday we had -20C and snow all day with high winds that caused all kinds of problems for commuters. Almost 40cm has fallen since Tuesday. Schools were cancelled all over Ontario yesterday. My snowthrower has been getting quite the workout. Better than me having to shovel two times a day at home and twice at work. Lots of meter high snow drifts to clear. Next week it should get warmer and rain is predicted. Yuck. I prefer the cold and snow over the freezing rain and the mess that comes with it. This winter has reminded me of the typical winters that we used to get when I was a kid.

Mervi, Dumba, Chris - You are right about the panic caused by over reporting the illness. It is even affecting the stock markets to the point that they had the sharpest drop since the recession of 2008.

Today I get an early start to my chores, then I'm heading to the city of Burlington to look at some electronics with friends. I need an extra speaker for my TV. It has a rear pointing speaker that makes it difficult to hear some programs.....or am I getting old and losing my hearing. :(

Have a great day.

Virus bekommen - Panikmache !

LUDMILA - ich habe heute die
ersten Zitronenfalter gesehen !
Es bluehen Forsythien, Schlehe,
Traubenhyazinthen, Narzissen.
Bienen waren auch zu sehen !
Sehr viele Voegel sind da. :)

Now I need an afternoon-nap.
I was on the market very
early in the morning. ;)

Good morning! Guten Morgen!

Dumba - You're so right! During the last few days the news are almost only about the corona virus. It's serious, of course, but is it necessary to make people panic? Many people are very anxious and afraid without no real reason. An ordinary flu can be very fatal, too but maybe it isn't worth big and bold head lines ....

Britta-Gudrun, Chris, Ralph and everybody - I wish you all a pleasant Saturday! My cold isn't getting any better so I have to take it easy even today.

In KWM you'll find Ralph's article of ANTONIA in Gelsenkirchen. What luck I can prepare things for KWM so I almost always have something in store for the days I'm not able to 'work' with the magazine.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to all those who can celebrate
their RIGHT birthday this year, as it's a SCHALTJAHR = LEAP YEAR:

Schaltjahr / leap year means 29 days in February
( = 366 days a year: 2020 + 2024 + 2028 . . . contrary to 3 years before and after.
'Normally' the month of February has only 28 days
and the year has consequently only 365 days in total).

May be they are especially happy people as they get older only every 4th year.
So: "Happy 30th - sorry: 18th birthday to all those born February 29th,1990 ! ;-)

Whether belonging to the group of people that is ageing each and every year or to those who save 3 years within 4 years: Enjoy your weekend to the fullest and RELAX! Try not to think about world politics and viruses which - I have to admit - gets more and more difficult!

Leti - I'm very late but I wish you a HAPPY BIRTHDAY even here!

Chris - The photos of the swans and the ladybirds are lovely! - You're very lucky for not getting sick.

Patricia - What a wonderful wake-up serenade you had this morning! :D - Finja is a perfect name for a daughter of a Finnish Viking and an Estonian Queen! :D

Ludmila - I think it's time for Uncle Sergej's Friday Fizz!

Good evening Dear All, lazy Friday evening and enjoying a glass of white wine.
Annemarie, I am wishing you all the best with your move to Berlin and once the boxes are empty (and please take your time for that), you can start a new life.
Mervi, I love the name FINJA. It was the best name that Vienna could give to the baby, just by paying respect to her ancestors.
Ludmila, good to hear that Minka is doing fine.
Yesterday, we had snow for almost the entire day. But because the temperatures were positive, it immediately melted. Well, at least, it was a first and maybe only sign of winter for this year. Nevertheless, we were lucky because this night it was freezing. By the way, this morning, I had a real lovely manner of waking up by the chirp-chirps of the little tits at my window waiting for their nuts. Needless to say that their wish was my commend.
