The Autumn leaves are falling down now

Dear friends! The falling leaves are a sign of the fact that the Winter will soon be here! Our white fluffy friends will again be able to enjoy their favourite season - and even some furless friends will love the snow! :-)

@ Mervi, Ralph, Britta-Gudrun, Chris
Thank you all for your warm words and good wishes.

Heute kamen einige Halloween-Kinder vorbei.

GUTEN ABEND

We had another sunny day.
So I was at the river in the
afternoon. In our street we
had no Halloween kids in
the last years. :)

Ralph - Halloween is a very new 'phenomen' in Sweden and the only thing we notice are the pumpkins in the shops and sometimes kids knocking at people's doors for 'bus eller godis'. :D

Britta-Gudrun - I guess even Mr Django is staying more indoors now that the weather is getting colder.

All Hallow's Eve as it is called in England was not really celebrated here, as it has rather gruesome associations with the persecution of witches, especially in the period of the English Civil War. A very well known film https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Witchfinder_General_(film)
told the terrible story of the trials that took place, which were in fact like the Salem trials in the USA.
Today of course, rather like Prom Nights, teenagers have imported it from the USA and hold raucus parties at home and online. English towns and villages are nor as safe as their US counterparts so we rarely have trick ir treat for small children except in peoples' own homes.
I am reminded of the documentary about Trick or Treat in Churchill, Canada, where the armed Police and Polar Bear watch have to ensure that the little ones can go from house to in safety.
Yeo My mother had a lot of work done on her leg and hip at the famous JR hospital in Oxford. I hope that you will get good doctors

Good morning! Guten Morgen! Dear fluffy angel - it's the last day of October!

Britta-Gudrun - We don't see so much Halloween here either. It's very seldom we see kids 'tricking-or-treating' nowadays. I guess they're busy with their phones .... :D - Even I wear my shoes and coats until they almost fall off! :D

Dumba - Happy Halloween to the CCC, too! Thanks for the nice collage!

Yeo - Oh no! What really bad news about your knee. However, it can be 'fixed' but it means a long time convalescense. I hope your arm is at least healing well.

I published an old Halloween story from 2008 in KWM. It's about KNUT AND FLOCKE GOING FOR TRICK-OR-CROISSANT.

I wish everybody a pleasant TDT!

Einen lieben Gruß zur Mittagszeit!

@ Mervi
A lot of greetings for you and Vesa! I wish you a Happy Halloween! 🎃👻🎃

@ Britta-Gudrun

Britta-Gudrun - Good to hear you enjoyed the shopping tour. Did you find new shoes or new clothes?

Ralph - What a pity if your photos from Gelsenkirchen are lost. I hope you'll find your old phone!

Dumba - Thank you for the news from Hagenbeck and Schönbrunn - and info about the gull!

Chris - Good luck with raking the leaves!

I'm having a night cup and hitting the mulch early today!

Thank you for the new thread.
Knuts picture is lovely. :)
Winter knocked at the door.
We had the first frost last night.
Raking leaves is daily business.

MERVI - The sweet gull ws taken by Jens on a ferry to HELSINKI :-)
. . . OMG: I am really excited that 14 children will come to my place tomorrow evening for 'trick-or-treat'!. Thank you so much - "Ich bin begeistert!!!!" . . . - - -

May be that?s an interesting info from the international zoo-world for one or another :

Dagmar Schratter, Direktorin vom 'Tiergarten Schönbrunn (Wien)' wird vom bisherigen Direktor des 'Tierpark Hagenbeck (Zoo Hamburg)', Stephan Hering-Hagenbeck, abgelöst. Video:

Been rather busy at home but am able to use the new Knuphone to post here.
I think the old one has slipped down somewhere at home but it does not ring when I call it so it will take moving some stuff to find. I have the Gelsenkirchen photos on it so I hope it turns up.
Like seeing Knut on the new thread.
I will have to save the last one.
Raise a glass with Uncle S later.

Good morning! Guten Morgen!

Yeo - Congratulations for being number one on this thread! Uncle Sergej and Madame Nini have a great prize for you. Their 14 kids will come to you for a 'trick-or-treat'! I hope you have enough candy for them! :D

Dumba - Because your comment appeared almost at the same time as Yeo's the kids will come to you, too! Isn't that great! :D - I couldn't figure out where the photo of the sweet gull was taken ....

In KWM you will find something really beautiful - WHITE MAGIC IN NORTHERN FINLAND. Our friend Marko has again taken breath taking photos of a snowy landscape with lovely reindeers. I'm sure even the non-Winter-lovers will love these photos!

I wish everybody a happy Hump Day!
