Dear friends! The falling leaves are a sign of the fact that the Winter will soon be here! Our white fluffy friends will again be able to enjoy their favourite season - and even some furless friends will love the snow! :-)

Dave - I didn't know that Olivia de Havilland is still alive. Wow, she has reached a most respectable age! - Santa Claus parade if anything is a sign that Christmas is approaching with giant steps now. - I hope the evening with your friends will cheer ypu up after the funeral yesterday.

Good Morning.
Winter has definitely arrived here. We have snow on the ground and the temperatures have been in the negative Celsius range all week. Today it is -13C. Although it is cold, it is sunny with a clear blue sky and is a perfect day for the Santa Claus parade. Lots of traffic on my street this morning. I live only a block away from the parade route.
Yesterday I attended the funeral for my 84 year old aunt Katie, who had suffered from Alzheimer's for years. She was married to my mom's older brother Harry. Apparently most relatives from Katie's side of the family were shocked at how much I look like my late Uncle Harry. This was the fifth funeral that I have attended in 2019.
Not much on the schedule today other than the usual chores. I'll head out for a walk in an hour or so and then beers with friends later in the afternoon.
Ralph - Katjuscha is much like Olivia de Havilland, who at 103 years old is one of the last remaining actors of the Golden Age of Classical Hollywood.
I raise my beartail in a toast both Katies.

Knuti-Judi - I agree! It's really heart warming to see how the keepers in many zoos arrange something special for their beloved animals. I'm especially happy that Katjuscha was celebrated today.

The Alaska Zoo has now a webcam following Cranbeary in the maternity den. Maybe there's something going on soon .... It may take a while until the camera starts.There are two camera wiews available.

Britta-Gudrun - We've have waited for such a long time so the whole Finland is celebrating. The football team is called the 'Owls'. Some years ago when Finland met Belgium in Helsinki an owl flew to the stadium and sat on the Finnish goal. The game had to be interrupted for a while but Finland won. After that the owl is considered as a luck bringer.
Monika - and I'm sure many other polar bear lovers - is in the Berlin Zoo celebrating our grand old lady Katjuscha. I hope we will soon see photos and/or videos!

I'm watching the football game Finland vs Liechtenstein. If Finland wins the team is qualified for the Euro 2020! Standing at the moment 3-0 in favour for Finland!

Heute war extreme Ladehemmung auf dem Laptop und im Internet, gottlob hat es sich
wieder normalisiert.
Mervi, der Geburtstagsbericht von Monika ist toll, und es macht besonders viel Freude, wie Mutter und Kind sich die Geburtstagstorte so friedlich teilen.
Nachher sind noch einige Besorgungen zu machen, denn morgen kommt die Patentochter mich besuchen.
Gespeist wird aber auswärts, also Feiern von Anfang an.
