Ralph - When we were younger - much younger! - Vesa and I made several trips by train in Eastern Europe. They were real adventures and we certainly have a lot to remember. However, I wouldn't dream of making that kind of trips now.

I arrived home in the afternoon. The cats told me the stories about hunger
Sydi managed to make my black trousers white with her fur. I think Muffin and Minka are waiting in the bed for me.

Am back at home after a splendid day.
Travelling to Berlin was going to be easy after the
Channel Tunnel because special sleeper trsins had been ordered for journeys overnight from London to places like
Berlin but the rise of cheap airline fairs in the 90s made it
uncompetitive and the trains were sold. I think to Canada, well the coaches at least. It would have been so good to sleep and
wake up in Berlin.

Eveninggreetings to Malmø.
This evening in the Zoo to hear about the garden from 1859 until now - including much about the Zoo during the war.
Nice weather to-day. Autumnsun with clouds.
To-morrow I am invited to visit my old office/lunch. I am there twice a year. Over 10 years have gone since my retirement. But it is always nice to visit the old place. Twice a year I also meet the people I worked with from 1964 until 1986.The socalled good old days.
Eveninggreetings to you all from Copenhagen.

Yeo: Hoffentlich geht es Deinem Vater bald wieder besser. Das wuensche ich von Herzen! Es waere gut, wenn Du nicht frueher zur Arbeit gehen musst, gerade jetzt, wenn Du Dich vermehrt um den Vater kuemmerst. Aber manchmal laeuft alles quer. Ich kenne das!

Ralph - Flying for those who had booked tickets for AirBerlin has been more or less a night mare. Even Gudrun and Simone had to make extra arrangements when they came back from Vienna. Unfortunately Vesa and I can't come to Berlin in Dezember this year but if we had planned a trip we would have booked AirBerlin. I guess it will be SAS next time ....
Yeo - Hopefully the last days of your vacation will be good although your father is not well. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Good morning I am a bit late in the Library today as I was buying bears, model planes and a coat in the market early on. I was also enjoying looking at some toys from 1963 which are worth a lot of money but too fragile for me these days.
My breakfast was rather less healthy than Dumba's I am afraid.
I love the second part of Monika's visit report from Antibes. I really sympathise with her about the travel. It seems to get worse each year and I for one am not sure how much longer I will do it, though seeing Flocke, Hope and Raspi must have been a good consolation.
I am back into Oxford later for a Baked Potato with salad and baked beans followed by some beers for me, BN and my friend with the cats.

I am glad that Chloe is doing well. Minka is always angry with me some weeks after visiting a vet. I am looking for cuddling with the cats tomorrow.
