Snow in Ranua - green leaves in Berlin

Collage by Mervi, Original Knut by Monika aus Berlin

Dear friends! It's Spring now although it doesn't look the same everywhere. We can for example compare photos from Berlin and Ranua and see the big difference. No matter what kind of Spring you're having - it's again Easter! Of course, I have made a little story for this thread.

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Mervi - I'm hoping the same concerning my ultra-senior period :D

Dumba - Die Eisbärkünstlerin sah wirklich flott aus.
Hoffentlich musste sie nicht leiden.

Tommi and I are spending quality-time together, walking, napping, munching, walking, napping, munching, while Rasband took off for a seminar weekend.

Have an agreable Happy Hour / Blaue Stunde (unfortunately still with very grey clouds in my little corner of the world)!

Dumba - Oh my, the lady was already 99 years old! Chapeau!

Ludmila - Extra pot of Herkules is always welcome! :D

Patricia - I'm curious, too, to know how all your plants are doing!

Knuti-Judi - The Ol' Man Winter couldn't prevent Miss Spring' entré! :D

Hello friends at coffee time!
I hope the weather will stay fine for your trip tomorrow.
Maybe you will come to Berlin to visit the pandas :)
How are you doing? You planted the new shrubs. How are they doing at the cold weather? We planted a small peach tree last year. It was full of blossoms in March, now the blossoms got brown, but the leaves are still green.
I drink the next pot of Herkules with you

MERVI - Thanks for the 'KWM'-ZOO BERLIN report as well! ;)
The Photos of Margarete OGAZA were from 2012! That's she
was already 99 (nintynine!) when she died!

SARSAM - I feel so much pity with you that you have still to
suffer on the impacts to your dear leg by the GANDY-bad-mood-attack
already months ago. I send best vibes and wishes to YOU, your KNubby,
and also to your dear beasties including the main 'bestie' GANDY (sweet peep
to DeeDEE. . . I am very excited to get to know one day whether you had
find out who was the still unknown visitor who came from 'mother nature' out
of the woods . . .

BRITTA-GUDRUN and RALPH - Thank you very much for your feedbacks.
Crossing my fingers that weather will be sufficiently acceptable so you will
make it to Doncaster and we may possibly enjoy later another beloved
'Ralph-report' :)

Enjoy your Thursday ALL/e

Good morning! Guten Morgen! Dear fluffy angel - oh bear, the Knuipe has already been crowded ... I'm a bit late because we had to do the obligagory grocery shopping and, of course, make sure Nalle's and Mimmi's food supplies are filled!

Dumba - Margarete Ogaza was a grand old lady and I would have loved to celebrate her 100. birthday. However, she reached the respectable age of 94 and she will always be remembered by her lovely Knut statuette. - The English breakfast - in my case a brunch - is excellent although I think I leave the beans ..... - Thank you for the new report from the zoo!

Chris, Bärgit - When I was shopping I had to wonder why there must be so many different kinds of tooth pastes, shampoos, shower creams etc. It takes ages to find the ones I use! :D

Sarsam - I wish you and Lloyd a speedy/speedier recovery! - Oh bear, you had an unexpected dinner guest again. I'm sure it was a bear!

Ludmila - The Herkules smells fantastic! I'm glad to hear your magnolia tree will survive after all!

Britta-Gudrun - I hope I will be in as good mental - and even physical - health as Frau Ogaza was. She was already an old lady when she created the beautiful Knut statuette.

Ralph - Fingers, paws and tails are kept crossed that tomorrow will be a 'zoo kind of day'! Have a great time in Doncaster!

In KWM you'll find Dumba's report from the zoo offering both pictures and reading for us. Now it's time for me to dig in the brunch so I wish everybody a fine TDT!

Dumba has produced a fabulous Berlin Zoo report around Fatou's 60th
birthday celebrations. I am sorry to hear about the Knut sculptor lady.
The sun is shining today and I may try to go to Doncaster tomorrow.
If I do, I will let you have a report on Saturday.
All the best

Ruhe sanft liebe Oma Margarete!
Dein Fruestueck wuerde mich allerdings erschlagen....

Good morning! Guten Morgen!
I hope your leg will heal soon. I keep my fingers cross for you. It is very good that the eye of Lloyd is improving.
It is good that you did not meet a hungry visitor.
I think the magnolia tree will recover in summer. It is a hope. I wish your red bud would get the new limbs in summer.
Chris, Bärgit
We have many baker shops, which belong to the big bakerys. They are allowed to open at the week end and on the public holidays if they offer coffee and cakes. They offer now the breakfast too.
I am waiting with Herkules for you

Greetings from rainy Massachusetts!

First of all, I want to wish Chris a happy birthday! Better late than never? :-) Wishing you a year of good health, lots of great bike rides and many birds to watch!

Lloyd's eye is improving but not as fast as he would like! I am using ibuprofen to help with my leg. Will see the doctor again Friday to have the leg re-wrapped and get advice on how to proceed.

Ludmila -- perhaps you can get a "wet suit" for Speedy to keep him warm out in his pond? :-)) That is too bad about your magnolia tree -- our red bud is still alive but with all the limb breaks, does not look very good......

We had a visitor last night -- a strong, furry type that pulled the corn-filled garbage can over and ate a lot of the corn.......and also tore apart one of the suet feeders.......probably a bear but we have no proof........

Sending you all best wishes, hugs and wing greetings!..................................Semper Knut!

Unfortunately I have to close the day with a SAD INFORMATION:
As I came to know only this evening, OMA MARGARETE did pass
away already on January 2nd in a hospital in the CCC :(
Bye-Bye - We will keep in mind your lovely KNUT-sculpture with
TD's protecting hand which was one of the favorites in the
competition that was won finally by the artist of 'KNUT - der TRAEUMER'.
In the following picture MARGARETE OGAZA is to be seen in the middle
with the light blue jacket:
Isn't it a pity she couldn't celebrate her 100th birthday end of this year anymore !? :(

GOOD NIGHT to ALL/e anyway
May be you will have nice memories of the KNUT-times
and everything around him in your dreams . . .

MERVI - I hate these big malls. In Ffm we have too many of them.

I hope for the nice weather at the week end. We plan a long trip in Germany
It is cold but sunny and dry in our region.

Mervi - Cheers to all our helpers!

Dumba - I just saw your old school photo. You were such a lovely young 'student'!

Bärgit - Uncle Sergej is offering his help in a liquid form! :D

Chris - I can only agree with you, It's really annoying all the shops must be placed in all kinds of malls - ofter far away from where we live. I don't know how many malls there are in Malmö but they all have exactly the same shops. At the same time the small shops in the city must close.
