Snow in Ranua - green leaves in Berlin

Dear friends! It's Spring now although it doesn't look the same everywhere. We can for example compare photos from Berlin and Ranua and see the big difference. No matter what kind of Spring you're having - it's again Easter! Of course, I have made a little story for this thread.

I can´t believe the news from Hellabrunn.
Yoghi was not old - what has happend ?
Its very sad. :(

Die Geschichte mit der stark blutenden Wunde
und der Notfalloperation ist auch mysteriös.
Was war da los ?

I'm still chocked and, of course, incredibly sad after the news from Hellabrunn. It's impossible to find words but I tried to make a tribute to Yoghi in KWM. Our dear gentlebear deserves that!

Thank you all for being here today. We are mourning but we can also comfort each other just being here together in silence.

RIP Yoghi!
Adieu lieber 'QC-Kollege'.

Caren: Vielleicht hoerst Du Naeheres.

Allen liebe und auch sehr traurige Grüße!

Good evening Dear All, just like most of you, I am still shocked about the news from Hellabrunn.
Today, in the office, I did something I actually seldom did before. Because of the Easter vacations, lots of lawyers were not in the office and therefore, I made an extra effort to make sure that all work was done. As a result, today, I found a ?lazy? hour and decided to spend in it KWM to finally read reports, enjoy pics and write comments. But do not ask me why, just before starting, I decided to go the Knutitis and saw the news that Yoghi died. I immediately returned to the Knuipe to find Caren?s confirmation and Mervi?s announcement and all my courage was gone. I was kind of paralyzed in my thinking and stopped. Later, after coming come (for an hopeful peaceful and quiet long Easter weekend) and after having fed the cats, I grabbed my forces together and finally wrote my comments on the last reports. But alas, they are rather short because there is a pain in my heart.
I know that Caren is no longer active in The Knuipe, but I really do appreciate her effort to bring us this sad news as soon as she could. And furthermore, I am still having the hope that she is returning.
For her and also for Anita, it is a real tragedy to know that he is no longer in Hellabrunn because their love for this bear was without a question or a doubt. I also feel very sad for the keepers and the management of Hellabrunn because they did whatever they could to make him become better. But the saddest thing, at least according to me, is that Giovanna, while enjoying the presence of her little baby and loving this kid, is not even aware that she will never meet her Prince Charming again. Maybe we all can be grateful that her heart is now too much filled with love for her child and that within this and 2 years, she may have forgotten what she lost at this moment.
But believe me, I will never forget lovely Yoghi, I will never forget how forgotten he was in Tierpark and how lonely, and how happy when he finally could return, and how madly he fell in love with Giovanna and how gentle he was courting her to win her heart. He has given the world 4 lovely children: Blizzard, Neela, Nobby and little Quintana.
Farewell, gorgeous, wonderful and adorable white Giant Yoghi. May you rest in peace and one day, I hope to meet you in Polar Bear Heaven.

Yet again we have happy news followed all too soon
by tragedy. I am especially shocked as I met Yoghi in
Berlin in 2010 and was looking forward to see him
again this Summer.

Caren - Yoghi was loved by us all but I know he was especially loved by you. I remember when you showed us the place where you used to sit 'talking' to Yoghi in Hellabrunn. He was our house bear for many years here in the Knuipe, too .... it's so hard to accept he's no longer with us.

This Easter should have been a very happy Easter in Hellabrunn with lots of visitors but now it turned into sadness. I hope little Quintana will comfort the mourning visitors, keepers and everybody working in Hellabrunn.

ALL/e - MERVI - CAREN

Before I just entered 'die Knuipe' I had already received the shattering news from Munich.
One want to cry a never ending 'Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo......!'
I don't know whether I'll dare any longer to be happy about any glad news from the zoos etc.,
as the bad news follow most certainly very soon after . . .

Also I couldn't blink back my tears but - I am afraid - the one who is devastated the most
is most probably CAREN (and ANITA!) and for sure any of the keepers, reponsibles, vets, visitors and other 'TIERGARTEN HELLABRUNN MUNICH addicted ones'
- as also we others ALL/e

May all the other inhabitants of HELLABRUNN be well - first of all
GIOVANNA and lovely QUINTANA aka MISS Q.

Sending KNUTi-style hugs all around.

Good morning! Guten Morgen! Dear fluffy angel - today is Good Friday, Karfreitag, Långfredag, Pitkäperjantai - whatever you will call it. In my childhood this was the most boring day of the year but the times have changed. Now we hardly notice any difference between this day or any other day.

Inge - It's wonderful how quickly Nöel and Nord found each other. Let's hope the light of love will keep on burning. :D - The craws can become very tame. How nice to have company at the breakfast! :D - I didn't know the male elephant was so old!

Dumba - We have an April weather day but luckily there was a dry moment so we could take a walk before the transparent small polar bears start falling down again. :D - Thank you again for the fantastic breakfast and lunch!

Britta-Gudrun - Quintana is a charming cubbie and thanks to Anita we're able to follow her growing. Giovanna has her paws full but she also allows herself to have some 'private moments',

As you have already guessed today's contribution in KWM comes from Anita and the stars are, of course, Giovanna and Quintana.

I wish everybody a very pleasant Friday - no matter what you call it! :D

ENJOY your day in taking things easy !

Thanks Mervi for the very sweet new thread. Here we have had rain, sun and cold weather.
I took the morning coffee in my little garden with "my" more or less tame Craw. It stole from my breakfast. It always does, it is a smart guy/girl.

I visited Nöel und Nord again today. A short visit. It was going well. They were performing in the tunnel, and Nöel was again a very white lady.

Ludmila, I have not seen The dead man walking-opera, but I have heard about it. I have many years ago seen the film "Dead man walking".

Yes, Fatou is an old lady. Here in Copenhagen our old male elephant is over 60 years. For me he has always been there. I have "known" him almost all my life. I hope, that he shall live some more good years here.

All the best wishes for the Easter to you all.

To-morrow I am going to a birthdaybrunch.

Dumba - I'm here to join you in a toast to Fatou! Cheers!

Ludmila - Your 'Easter tree' looks great!

Chris, Britta-Gudrun - Let's wish Fatou all the best and drink to her health and happiness. Gesundheit! :D
