Dear friends! Old Man Winter is already planning his retirement and Miss Spring will soon make her entré. However, there's still time to enjoy the snow of this season!

Hoffentlich alle sind fertig.

Miss KJU sieht leicht struppig und damit ganz besonders (suess) aus!
Das sind zwei ganz entzueckende Aufnahmen - irgendwie ein bisschen
anders . . Vielen Dank fuer die zwei Links, CHRIS. Diese Anblicke
waren ein schoener Tagesbeginnt.

Jetzt gibt's zur Abwechslung dafuer etwas Herzhaftes
an einem ganz normalen Hump Day zum Fruehstueck:

und fuer ganz Hungerige 'nen 'strammen Max'
Butterbrot mit Schinken, Spiegelei, Tomaten, Gruenzeug:

Und Fluessiges gibt's natuerlich auch noch:

Have a pleasant hump day - Wuensch' Euch ein schoenes 'Bergfest'

Bärgit - BPSS is a brilliant idea! :D

Ralph - Milana certainly is white, fluffy and roundish - just like a beautiful polar bear lady should be. :D

Chris - Miss Q is always cute!

Ludmila - Are you here, too, for a night cap?

I'm really thrilled waiting for tomorrow. I hope Venus will find the timing right. :D

I will raise a glass, especially to all our friends in the US.
Hope KJ found a good way to pass the time on the West Coast
and that the snow storm passes.
I m probably going to Berlin at the beginning of April to see Kati, though
Tegelbkeeps going on strike.

Dumba - #1 was lucky to get the proper treatment. Chiropracticians who know their profession are a blessing to us all. Note the weight span of animals Dr. Sperbeck is dealing with: 3 pound to 1000 pound!

Mervi - Maybe we should come up with a BPSS (body parts search system) start-up :D

Christine - one foot of snow within an afternoon?
Take care and prepare for a cosy time at home with your loved ones.

Dumba - What sweet tiger kittens! I'm so glad 'number 1's' problem is solved and the kitty is now doing fine.

Christine - Let's hope the storm won't be too heavy. Glad to hear you're OK!

Ralph - How about a Knutsteiner? :D

Hannover well of course.

Bärgit - I certainly would need a tracker to find myself sometimes! :D

Ralph, Ludmila, Bärgit - I think it's OK for the zoos to breed polar bears if they have enough place for both the mother and the baby and even the papa bear. It's a bit surprising that so many zoos want cubs but haven't thought of making sure there's enough place. For instance Lars and Felix have been travelling a lot from a zoo to another during the years.

There is enough place for the mother with a child and for the male bear. Because of the construction it is not possible to keep 2 male bears in addition to the female bear. The stables are in the middle. At the left side the bears have access to the rocks, at the right side is sand and grass. It is not possible to separate 2 male bears outside, if they are not in the good mood. I think that's why the zoo gave the third male bear away. At the beginning there were 3 young males.

Ludmila - I didn't know that Hannover had so much space to handle MotherKid + Men.
Your description sounds inviting and encouraging.

Hello friends at coffee time!
I hope it is not very bad for you to be stuck in San Diego.
In the zoo Hannover the enclosure is about 2600qm with the different parts: rocks, sand, grass, mulch and the water. What is for problem with breeding in such big enclosure? The zoo waited 7 years for the female. Now they got Milana. Is this not a regular situation to let a male and a female to breed together?

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Mervi, Dumba, Uncle Sergej - Thank you for your breakfast catering services.
Vom Winterspeck zu Frühlingsrollen ist kein weiter Weg :D

Ralph - This is priceless: Melania, Milana & Matrjoschka Матрёшка.
Yes, the young lady sure is a bit roundish but she definitely has a mind of her own and the guts of a polar mama to-be.
Although I also have my doubts whether it's wise to take part in the breeding programme in Hannover. Polar cubbies are not to be meant as cash cows!!!!

Mervi - A key tracker is a great idea. One of these days we'll be surrounded by trackers to find ourselves :D

Sarsam, Christine, Knuti-Judi - Paws crossed that the snowstorm goes past our homes.

Here the put down the fences that are supposed to prevent the snow from covering the roads (Schneefangzäume). And they are taking the split gravel off the roads and pavements. So I guess Ms Spring is supposed to move in for good :D
The magpies have continued with their new home. It reminds me of an abstract bowl right now.

Just been enjoying the pictures of Melania, sorry Milan a in Hannover.
Although I understand that Hannover always wanted, lik e Emmen, to go over to breeding cubs, I think they are shortsighted as three or four bears together of the same sex are more active and interesting.
Thinking of Sarsam with the US weather
