Chris - Have you visited your birds by the river lately? I hope they're all OK!

Bärgit - We haven't decided yet if we will travel by car or fly. It's really a long way to drive to Tipperary so maybe it's wiser to fly .... we'll see.

Ludmila - Welcome back! Thanks for the good news of Tonja.

Ludmila - Good to hear Tonja is active.
Welcome back home from your trip.

Hello friends!
We were today in the Tierpark Berlin. We visited Tonja first. She played with a ball in the water.
I will load the pictures tomorrow.
I am glad that you did not lose electricity. The snow shoveling is not good for your leg. It is good that you were at the doctor. I keep my fingers cross that the wound will close soon.
If you use WLAN the internet is free of charge

Hallo Ihr Lieben

Korpelprobleme?
Gute Besserung!

Sarsam - Good to hear snowstorm Stella behaved relatively decently.
Speedy recovery for your leg!

Mervi - So you will go by car. O boy, that is a long way. When Baby Nalle and his parents are waiting who'll mind driving!

Heute war der bisher wärmste Tag.
Viele Zitronenfalter flatterten umher.
Auch sind einige Zugvögel wieder da.

YEO - alles Gute für dein Knie. Schön, dass Du im Zoo warst. :)

Filomena - All the cubs are incredibly sweet but, of course, the Mini-Viking in Ranua is especially dear to us.

Ralph - Now I hope the Ranua cub will have a nice name. :D

Britta-Gudrun - I'm glad you liked the comments to Birgit's fantastic photos.

Christine - I hope it has stopped snowing!

Dear Mervi and Vesa

Venus and her son are really very special and I can understand your enthusiasm. Ranzo
was a crucial help to us all in the dark days after Knut.

Ralph - We are really spoiled by cute cubbie photos these days. They are balm to our soul after we lost little Fritz. Of course, we also enjoy the older cubs and their parents as well. It was fantastic to see Lili 'talking' and playing with the visitors. - When it comes to visiting polar bears our first priority is, naturally, Ranua - especially after seeing the wonderful photos yesterday.

Dumba - Kids certainly keep their parents busy - no matter if they have two or four legs - or maybe a mini-rollator! :D - The cakes are perfect for the afternoon coffee!

As it's a bit late for breakfast today,
there is some cae instead and - of course -
also yummy coffe/tea:

For a change you can here see/watch that not only
polar bear mums/parents are quite busy:
Have some fun! :)

Liebe Yeo

Dear Sarsam

You are certainly in the thick of it. I hope that the leg will get better. You and Yeo seem
to be like our Polar Bear friends with wounded paws.

After the gorgeous pictures from Ranua we have a real treat today with Lili in Bremerhaven.
I must say she still looks like a cheeky pretty cubby.

My Knuphone now has a new problem. It drains the pay as you go quicker than the old one, so there may be times when I am not able to comment online, but I have my very old Knuphone which allows me to read the Knuipe threads.

The new Knuphone is wonderful though, as I can at last watch the videos in KWM at home.

After all the gloom of the events with Fritz last week, I am planning to go to Berlin at the beginning of April to see my Kati if the strikes allow.

Good morning! Guten Morgen! Dear fluffy angel - the weather has turned from sunny to rainy again. Well, baby bear don't care because the baby bear in Ranua brings sunshine to my day anyway! :D

Dumba - Sorry, you got a little confused about the two articles from Ranua yesterday. :D I wanted, of course, bring the first photos to you as soon as possible. I didn't expect I would even have the 'real' photos available so quickly. However, I wanted to have both articles visible .....

Sarsam - Oh bear, the wound in your leg was much worse than you thought from the beginning. I hope the treatment will 'bite' and your leg will soon be fine again. - I'm sure the birds are very grateful for the food delivery in spite of the snow heaps.

Yeo - Thank you for the news from the zoo. I'm glad to hear both Wolodja and Katjuscha are doing fine. - I wish you a pleasant vacation but, please, take it easy with the gardening so your knee won't get even worse. Take care!

Britta-Gudrun - Oh yeah, I dreamt of a sweet, white furball last night! :D - I share your opinion that many zoos shouldn't keep so many species but instead improves the living conditions to those they have. This goes especially for the zoos that can't expand their area.

Annemarie - I hope your hand is healing well!

Birgit B sent wonderful photos of Lili interacting with her visitors. The photos are now in KWM and, of course, I couldn't resist writing some captions , too ....

I wish everybody a very pleasant TDT!

Sarsam, that does not sound good with your leg. Hopefully the new method will help. The birds were lucky with the sudden snow-chaos with the good food of you. Best wishes in your winter wonderland!

Good morning, dear all!

@ Risto
Herzlichen Glückwunsch nachträglich zum Namenstag!
Ich hoffe, es geht Euch beiden gut.

@ Mervi
Thank you for the photos of Venus´ baby! The cubby is so cute!

Ich wünsche Euch allen einen schönen Tag!
Liebe Grüße

Mervi and All, Greetings from Massachusetts! We have finally surfaced :-) We have about 18 inches (46 cm) of snow on the ground with some drifting. We consider ourselves very lucky because we did not lose electricity either at home or at our work. Lloyd stayed at work with Deedee and Gandy and I stayed at home with the cat gang. Tuesday night and Wednesday morning were spent shoveling. We had hundreds of hungry birds to feed: red wing blackbirds, crows, juncos, chickadees, tufted titmice, mourning doves, etc. At one point, there was a group of about 10 crows eating and right in the middle were Mr. and Mrs. Duck who had arrived a little early this year :-) The rest of Wednesday was filled with doctor appointments. I saw my doctor and a specialist about my leg today -- the diagnosis is "venous stasis ulcer" -- treatment includes wrapping the leg in a dressing to be changed by the doctor once/week for as long as it takes to get rid of dead tissue and grow new healthy tissue. The hole is impressive!!

The new cubs in KWM are all super cute. Is it my imagination or does Milana look a lot like Katie (especially in the first photo in KWM)......

Sending many paw waves, best wishes and wing greetings to all !!..................Semper Knut!

Christine, Sarsam - I hope the snowing will stop soon! Even though I like snow I can understand you've got more than your fair share now!

Knuti-Judi - Are you still in San Diego?

Ralph - Let's hope Marko J will be busy with his camera so we can enjoy his photos in many, many reports! :D

Teddybärenmutti - Nyt muistamme aina että Venuksen pentu tuli ulos Riston päivänä. :D

Bärgit - Our travel plans are still at the baby level and we're not travelling anyway until at the end of April or in the beginning of May. The roads are snow free then - at least we hope so! :D

Chris - I remember it was snowing in Rostock when Fiete came out for the first time and today in Ranua reminded me of that day.

I suggest we make a toast to Venus and her adorable baby boy! Cheers!
