Dear friends! Again it's time for a big Oktobear Fest in our Knuipe and as usual it will go on for weeks! In Munich there's a very special party going on, too. You can read more about it here:

Britta-Gudrun - Miracles do happen! The handymen came exactly at 13.00 as agreed! :D - Mimmi and Nalle always hide under the bed or under the sofa when the door bell rings and stay there if they don't know the person/s. - Have a pleasant lazy day!

Good morning! Guten Morgen! Dear fluffy angel - we're waiting for a handyman to install a news cooker hood above the stove in our kitchen. I hope they come in time so we don't have to wait all day long. Please, keep your paws crossed!

Dumba - Thank you for the funny morning greetings! The lolifantje and the sweet doggie certainly put me in a very good mood. :D

Britta-Gudrun - Yes, soon it's time even for Charlotte and Hope leave their mothers. I rely the zoos will find good new homes for them but I hope they will stay in Europe. I know, it's selfish to want to have them near us but I can't help it. However, the main thing is our beloved bears will have a good and happy life where ever they are.

Bärgit - Vienna has a long travel to La Palmyre. I wish the old lady a pleasant journey and hope she will be happy. Of course, I even hope I'll meet her again in Rostock!

Ludmila - This time of the year is time for many young bears to leave and it's also time (soon) for hopefully many cubs to enter the world. If I had millions I would establish a giant polar bear world in northern Scandinavia. There's plenty of untouched nature which would be ideal for the bears and they would also have a real Winter. Oh well, one can always dream ...

Inge - Even though some zoos aren't far away they are not so easily 'accessable'. I don't want too many bus and train changes and long walks are in my case out of question. - Have you time to visit the Christmas Market in Rostock? I'm sure it's very nice.

Yeo - Congratulations to 555! :D - Travelling in our age isn't as easy as it was 20 years ago ....

Today you can enjoy Ralph's report from Gelsenkirchen and, of course, meet even sweet Antonia in KWM! I wish everybody a best possible Tuesday!

Good morning! Guten Morgen!
I wish all the best to your husband
I wish you a nice trip to Rostock in Dezember
It is a long drive to Aalborg for us too. We cannot make the visit on a day.

Good morning!

I wish the polar bear a wonderful life, no matter what zoo. I'm still sad because I will not see Fiete again. It is unlikely that we will ever come to Hungary. Perhaps we will hardly travel because my husband is not doing so well.
I wish you all a pleasant Tuesday!

Mervi, yes, Aalborg is just over there in Jutland, but you are right "just over there" is a long journey. I have only been there once with Copenhagen Zoo by bus. We visited also Fjord og Bælt i Kerteminde (Fyn), Skandinavisk Dyrepark og Randers Regnskov, and we were 2 nights in a hotel in Randers.

One feels always sorry, when an animal one has followed from the birth go to another Zoo. One can only cross the fingers.

Birgit, gute Wünsche an dich.

To-day dogwalking with a friend (dogsitter for the grandchildrens dog Cosmo-Jack Russell Terrier) and the dog Cosmo in the park.

To-morrow vaccination against the flu and a walk in the park to my garden and then home to be with the cats.

To-day I have made reservation in the restaurant on the ferry to and from Rostock in December, so I can have a nice morningbuffet and on the way back eveningbuffet. I am a vegetarian and with buffets there is always something good to eat.

Good night from Inge and the two (you know who).

MERVI - the crossing of the bridges is very expensiv and Aalborg
is far in the north of Jütland, so you have to stay overnight.

I hope the weather in France will be better as in Germany. It will be good for Vienna.
Charlotte ist auch bald 2 Jahre alt. Ich bin gespannt wohin sie geht.

Let us drink on our polar bears!

Vienna - You'll be travelling almost 1.600 km.
I hope you'll like the breeze the Atlantic Ocean will send to your new home.
In Royan you can take the ferry to the famous Medoc and Bordeaux wine growing regions in case you don't feel like crossing the mouth of the Gironde polar bear style swimming.

Mervi, Teddybärenmutti, Chris - The separation of the three does hurt, doesn't it?

Well, I got back from my ride and now I'm waiting for Rasband and Tommi to come home with Tommi's four-paws sleep-over friends.

Chris - Thanks for the link to Ulli's site where we can find excellent info as usual! - Manuela's video of Vera and Charlotte is lovely! :D

Teddybärenmutti - Aalborg is not so far away from us but visiting the zoo there can't be made in one day ..... and crossing the two bridges (Öresund and Stora Bält) is very expensive - about 200 euros. In my opinion a pure robbery!

Aalborg sowieso. Nur Ungarn kenne ich nicht.

We had sun at noon and clouds in the afternoon - its not cold.
I visited my feathered friends at the river.

Vienna will go to the La Palmyre Zoo in France. I had hoped she could stay in Germany but hopefully she'll be happy in her new home. It's always a pity an old bear has to move.

Dumba - The day sleepers are ever so cute! :D
