Die Knuipe

Love and respect walk hand in hand!

Posted by Mervi on July 12, 2012 at 8:10 AM

Dear friends! Again I think it's time to remind all the visitors - especially parents with children - about the proper behaviour while visiting a zoo or an animal park. Some photos from Ranua made me feel very bad even though there hasn't been any serious incidents - not yet anyway. How can we make people realize that visiting a zoo is also visiting the animals' home?

Visitors - don't throw or drop things in the animals' enclosures!

Bargit -- Two puppies can entertain each other. Miss Nellie and Tyson might like a rest once in a while...... :-)

Crissi -- The mini rabbit and sloth are very cute!

Caren -- Wow, the Giggler has grown a lot taller!! Still adorable! The hat is "class."

Susan -- Thank you for the "cheers" -- Gandy took a complete bath after his pedicure and is looking good! He was a very good goose.

Dumba -- Thank you for the new tour--will take it tomorrow.......

Bargit... I missed your post on the two puppies. How wonderful... and what a lucky puppy (or puppies if you take Sarsam's suggestion :) ) to have a home with you!

Crissi... Thank you for the cute sloth picture!

Caren... What an adorable photo of the Giggler!

Time for supper (and a recharge on my Nook!) I still have a Cobb salad and a "Sonoma" salad (baby lettuce with dried cherries, bleu cheese and glazed pecans) from the yummy store. One of them will be on the menu tonight... but first, a cheers to Sarsam and Gandy for a successful pedicure!

Dumba... I will be back to follow your links after the Nook has a bit more power!

Have a good night, all!

Speedy recovery, dear MERVI, and PLEASE take good care of yourself!!!

How exciting about the puppies!

Sad about Puppi, though...

Cheers, crissi!

:D There is a big report of our day in Hellabrunn in KWM now :D

Crissi - and in Nuremberg it is also not very nice these weeks.

Sarsam - with Püppi it must have happened some minutes after we had left the apes. It is sad, we lost the second chimp in the watermoat.

Susan - http://tinyurl.com/cfeyjy3 girl with cute sloth :)

Sarsam - http://tinyurl.com/bnbk95z pigmy rabbit ;)

Bargit -- So very sad about Puppi--something surely must have scared her or lured her to the water.....
All best wishes in making your choice between the two puppies. You could do like we did the last time we "had" to make a choice--we took both of them (but these were cats) :-)

Ludmila -- You leave for USA on 29 July?

Susan -- Very sweet sloth story!!

Bärgit - I had a long chat with two teachers today at lunch. They were preparing their lessons for the coming days and had no idea what their pupils were doing. They assume that the children (class 8) have been educated at home how to behave in a zoo (grrrrr).

Ludmila - Bingo !
When are your leaving?

Ludmila... That's right... you did mention Yosemite- I forgot! Say hello to Nikita for me... he is a half-brother to Louisville's Siku (the brother from another mother ;) ) He is the son of the Marty (Siku's dad (who is also the son of Arki)) and Nan, born in 2006. That same year, Crystal (Siku's mom) gave birth to twin girls; they were transfered first to the Pittsburgh Zoo and then later to the zoo in Columbus, Ohio.

Crissi... I will try not to work too hard; I am just wrapping things up for the day and getting ready for tomorrow. It will soon be 17:30 and I will be on my way home (so I can toast to Sarsam and Gandy!) Cheers!

Crissi - Pasch!
Do you feel like having some Thymiantee /thyme tea? Refreshing and quite tasty.

Caren - I spent the day on a field trip at Wildpark Bad Mergentheim. Yes, there were lots of classes and it takes some effort to tell the kids how to behave before you enter the park.
I'm glad it worked out alright.
