Dear friends! As you may remember I always used to say Knut spoke to me and told me what to write. I loved our chats...... It's been very silent since March but now suddenly the photos of our Golden Girls by Monika started to talk to me. You can see/read the result here:

CRISSI -- Your term "horror year" says it all..... weather, world politics and financial problems, deaths of several of our favorite people and animal friends. But through it all, we here in the Knuipe remain together, cherishing old memories and enjoying making new ones.

MERVI and DUMBA -- I hope (and assume) that the "epic" storm along the coast of Alaska did no harm to our Alaska Zoo friends. Apparently the villages along the coast suffered from a storm surge 10' above normal and 89 mph hurricane-like winds.
DUMBA -- Thank you! It is lovely to get info on our Ernst.
CRISSI -- Thank you for the various photos last night and today!
LUDMILA -- Was there a blue cloud of not-so-nice words around Uwe when the key broke? :-))) We have not had a key break here--our problem is going down to work and forgetting the keys at home. We now have long lists of things to check off right by the door before we leave the house in the morning!
K-J -- I hope you are on your way home and will be able to relax this evening....

Ich muss wieder am Morgen frueh aufstehen. Gott sei Dank es wäre etwa +5Grad sein und kein Schwarzeis. Die Bruecken sind die gefährlichste auf Autobahn.
Raspi hat morgen sein Geburtstag. Am Nachmittag hole ich mehrere Pinke Torten ( Frl. Flocke hat sie besstellt). Pinke Raspi. Ich bewunderte, was sagt Raspi dazu.
Aber sicher schmecken sie wunderbär. Auch Pinkes Wodka von Onkel Sergej sollen wir holen.
leider muss man morgen noch arbeiten. Es wäre sehr suess von Morgen ab um Raspi zu feiern.

I am not too happy reading the content of the message - but it's so kind we received an answer and in a real nice manner and with sense of humour. Just let's cross our fingers that both bears, AJA and ERNSTL will get along such they will feel really good together on the long run - mating or not! //

Mervi, how is it with the travelling feaver ? Only three weeks, and we are in Berlin.
I had a god laugh with your Fawlty Towers. I miss the good old Mr. D. and his special service, it was the very exclisive charme of Joes Biergarten.

Mervi, be assured, all those who ever were at Joe's will definitely miss it. Although it was completely Fawlty Towers - I will never forget Mr. and Mrs. Detlev - both a disaster, the food was excellent, the quantities huge and the price more than reasonable.
