Dear Friends! This thread is dedicated to all hibernating bears in the world. I know many of us would like to hibernate, too. I tried to apply for a hibernation leave but my boss was totally missunderstanding! Murmurmur....
Teddybärenmutti has written a new story - this time she tells us how Wilhelmina came to her. Maybe you remember the lady with the hot temper?

Well, the weather people were right! It is s n o w i n g and it is laying on the grass here in the valley. This is the earliest we have seen laying snow since we came here in l978.

CAREN -- Of course they are good--they are Sicilian :-)) (My knusband's father's family is from Sicily!)
Sarsam - to fix the differential diagnose seems to be quite difficult. I hope Sam will be well soon.
These Sicilian oranges are very good. We do have a big box full with them, but one has to hurry because they are not treated with conservation. The quality is not to be compared with what we can buy in a supermarket.

LUDMILA -- It is complicated with Sam. Lots of variables--from having a new (altered) male cat in the house to mice caught in the house to different foods. Diarrhea can be caused by so many different things. We need to eliminate the obvious (worms) first--although we see no evidence of tapeworms and knusband has not found worm eggs in Sam's feces.

It is better to have the Europian chip. Then it would be possible to register the cat at TASSO.On the other hand our Charles had no chip and we never thought he would need one. The vets do not check each cat. If somebody will take a cat and keep a cat at home, nobody will find a cat

We have to drive about 5 minutes to vet. The worst is to get a cat in the carrier.
How is Sam doing? Laila had diarrhea often from the wet food. The best was to give her only dry food. I am sending the best wishes to Sam

Ludmila - I can imagine that the cats are stressed when going to the vet.
One question: is it helpful when only some vets are able to read the US code?
Sarsam - visiting vets are really helpful. When the pets are ill they are stressed and then the journey to the vet is really a challenge for the poor patient and his owners.

Sarsam - Ludmila - Let us have a Good Night Drink together; I have orange juice made from oranges which are imported from Sicilia. A friend has a good supplier and the oranges come directly from Italy, they are very sweet.

LUDMILA -- I know what you mean about taking the cats to the vet. Ours are the same way. I dread taking Sam in...the last time we put him in a carrier he actually hurt his nose trying to get out. It is ~18 miles to the vet--by the time we get him there, he will probably have a bloody nose and diarrhea everywhere!!! Sure wish we had visiting vets (like PATRICIA does)!

Ich lebe noch - warhscheinlich - weil ich hier schreibe.
Morgen wieder um halb sechs aufstehen vor dem sieben auf Autobahn , fuenf Stunden lehren, dann meine Mutti kuemmern. Hoffentlich bin ich um sechs Uhr wieder zu Hause.
Gott sei Dank lehre ich auch teilweise am Fachschule. Fachschule´Caterings Abteilung kann ich sehr guenstig und auch leckercliche Sachen einkaufen.
MMMMffff. Ich weiss es nicht, wer fährt mit uns. Ich habe allerlei leckeres gekauft. Zu Hause gibt es nur leere und etwas schmutzige Tueten. z:b, heute kaufte ich Lachs Aublauf 2X. Nichts mehr.

Of course Caren, I am travelling "light" as you know. Na ja , to the extent possible of course. Well, I must confess that I have taken Frans' good advice into account: I am not leaving Europe. But unfortunately, no carved pumpkin. Unless I would be able to find a good solution on Saturday for Sunday. At this moment, I made no big plans and decided to take the things they way they may come. But one thing is for sure: I will go to my favorite restaurant (and most probably, all these three evenings) and enjoy for example a good steak with scampi's, spinach, frietjes, lots of mayonnaise (DID YOU HEAR THAT BEA???) and a good glass (or two) of their delicious wine (and not virtual but real).
To be honest, I must confess that like all other times before, I am a little nervous at the moment and therefore, I hope that at least, I will have a few hours of decent sleep. I know, it is pretty childish, but I cannot help it (result: tomorrow evening, I will be at the end of all my forces).

CAREN -- So why is it when Yoghi is sitting still, we assume he is lazy? Judging from the expressions on his face, I would bet you that he is thinking deeply on various subjects. Now that you, acting as his personal reporter, have gained his acceptance and trust, perhaps he will impart to you his feelings and thoughts on these subjects. Of course, you may have to do a little editing.....I imagine you had to edit his remarks about people using flash cameras in his face :-)
