Hallo to my Dear Family,
Before I say anything I want to remind everyone that I am a tough old lady and I do try to make the best of whatever life sends me.
Now, I do have news regarding my surgery. They have refused to do my surgery. They say I am 66 yrs old, totally disabled (meaning I'll never work again) insulin dependent diabetic and already have a paralyzed vocal cord. On those grounds they say I am not a candidate for surgery. They reminded me that my surgery will be on three levels not just one and it is a very expensive surgery, too. Even though they did not say this, bottom line is, I am worthless to them since I'll never work again and I am not worth the cost of the surgery. The Claim Examiner said she is sending my entire chart to a "mediator" and the final decision will be up to him or her since two doctors say I need it and two say I am not a good candidate. So, I guess I will slowly (hopefully not suddenly) become paralyzed from the neck down. I do realize it may take years to be totally paralyzed but the future does not look good.
It has been very difficult to tell everyone what I finally learned because you have all been so loving and so supportive thru this entire mess. No matter what, I am blessed to have a family like you all in the Die Knuipe and this is another special thing that has happened by and tru our precious Knuti. He brought us all together.
Please, don't worry about me. I cannot forget what is in store in the future, but I will not allow it to ruin my present life. I send very special hugs to each and everyone at table #5 and I will be back cooking for everyone very shortly!!!

Devi is in natur zoo in Rheine in Netherland now. There is a new enclosure for the sloth bears with two young bears. I hope Devi will be happy there

I bought the special dry food for hedgehogs. It smells awful. I mix it with wet cat food. The hedgies are delighted

CRISSI -- What a great find you made!! Tango is gorgeous (and so is his mother!). We now have two LuLu's in the family :-))

ich danke herzlich fuer alle "gute Besserung"- Wuensche. Geht schon besser. Leider konnte ich nicht im Bett bleiben. Hier ist momentan herbstliche Abiturpruefungen. In Finnland kann man zweimal im Jahr Abi-Pruefung machen. Es bedeutet sehr viel allerlei uebrige Arbeit. Dann bekam ich zwei neue Schueler-Gruppen. Ich habe wirklich viel Arbeit momentan.
Ich hatte heute wirklich lange Arbeitstag und morgen muss ich wieder sehr frueh aufstehen.
Gott sei Dank haben wir heute schönere Nachrichten bekommen.

Ralph - Bist Du in Deinem vorherigen Leben ein Eisbär gewesen. Du bist echter eisbärliche Dr. Freud. Du verstehst unglaublich gut, was die Eisbären denken.
Etwa 8 Kms weit von uns liegt ein grosses Insel, es heisst Kakskerta (auf deutsch Zweimal),
dort wohnen die Schöne und Reiche von Turku in ihre Villas. hahaa. Heute hörte eine ältere Dame, dass jemand am Tuer klopfte, nicht klingte. Vor dem Tuer war Frau Bär. Eine echte Bärin. Sie hat wahrscheinlich auch zwei Babys. Es ist ein Alarm auf, dass die Leute drinnen bleiben. Töten will man nicht. Hoffentlich schwimmen sie weiter auf andere, unbewohnte Insel, wo sie in der Ruhe leben können, Winternikkerchen nehmen.
