Dear Knuipians! The theme of this thread is talented bears. We all know by now how multitalented our fluffy friends are but just to remind you of their musical skils there's a little story about a song contest. No, not the European one but a very special contest in CCC:

Ludmila, thank you for the Pinkkäppchen Champagne. I liked it. But now hicks, I had to go to my mulch now.

Teddybärenmutti, das schöne Abendkleid. Nicht damit schlafen. Dann wird es so zerknickt.
Und beim Servieren kannst Du es bekleckern. Wäre sehr schade.

Greetings Knutilda

Good evening friends!
Caren
In the moment I am more worried about you as about FloRa. I hoped you will be happy after the visit in Antibes. I am sending many hugs to you.
Patricia
I remember the problems with your neighbor and keep my fingers cross for you.
Sarsam
It is not really good news about your Grandma. Unfortunately there is no miracle against age.
My hydrangea is not doing well. It is still not rebound after slug attack. I will plant some geraniums for Ryzik and Charles.
The problem with Minka is that Ferdi wants to sleep with us too. He jumps on the bed and does not go away if Minka hisses. Tonight I will close the door for Ferdi and let Minka relax.
Mervi
I love your outfit!
Ralph
It is not good news that you have to be in London on 4th September.
Christine, Crissi, Knutilda
I would like to drink champagne with you.

Oh, no. Dear auntie Caren.

We are so sorrow. We are very happy here. We want to welcome Flocke and Raspi to us.
They were together so happy in Nuernberg. There must be something wrong. Meerwasser?
Too must loud? Stupid area?

Liebe Tante Caren!

Haben wir richtig verstanden, dass Flocke und Raspi NICHT zufrieden mit Antibes sind. haben sie Sehnsucht nach Nuernberg? Nach liebe Freunden , Pfleger und Fans?
Wir haben etwas solches geahnt.
Was machen wir?????

Hello dear all, I am sorry I did not write sooner. I have been very busy today.

Dear Caren, Thank you for the information about FloRa, but I am sorry to hear that you were displeased about their situation there.

Dear Waiter, May we have some Champagne?

Liebe Caren
Vielen Dank für deinen Kurzbericht aus Antibes.
Auch wenn es nicht durchweg positiv klingt.
Bin schon sehr gespannt auf Fotos!

Herzliche Grüsse

Hello and Good Evening, Dear All
I have just returned from France. Raspi and Flocke thank you so much for all the greetings and kisses. They are definitely glad that they are not forgotten.
When I saw Flocke first time in Antibes I really suffered from tachycardia, a few seconds later I saw Raspi, too, and my knees became like pudding. It will take quite some time from now on until the enclosure will be ready. Unfortunately there was noboday available at Marineland who I could ask all my questions. They were all out on a seminar. FloRa seem to be very annoyed and stressed due to the big construction place they are living at the moment. Hopefully the enclosure next to the place they are now will be ready and opened in a few days. Both bears have grown a lot and they have both put on weight. However, I cannot report that they are looking happy, that would be a lie! I took a lot of pics and during my flight home this evening I have already drafted a detailled report which I will provide soon.
Now I am a bit worried and very tired, the days following my Antibes visit were extremely busy.
Hugs from caren
I hope you are all well. I will return asap and I do wish you a pleasant evening.

PATRICIA -- Oh oh--your neighbor again (or yet)--well, I indeed will keep my fingers crossed. Be sure to take care of you too....

Many hugs, Sarsam

Herr Ober! Vielleicht eiskaltes Pinkkäppchen. Es ist so warm und schwuel. Dann Knutsteiner.

Frl. Flocke hat wirklich Geschmack. Ich hörte ueberall, sogar einige fragten: Frl. Flockes Wahl? Aber frl. Flocke als Ratgeberin. Es muss furchtbar TEUER SEIN. Ich lächelte nur.

Dear Sarsam, how funny, but I would wish that this "busy" was indeed a good kind of being busy. But nevertheless, I appreciate your reactions. They have always helped me to go through harder times, and these times never had to do something with me but with a neighbour. Therefore, cross your fingers that my fear and fury may help one day.

Greetings!

MERVI -- It got pretty cold here last night and this morning, all the kitty blankets on the screened-in porch had little kitty-sized nests made in them! I guess they just had to keep watch on the various animals in the yard but wanted to keep warm!

K-J -- I too really appreciate the updates on Hope and her tralalaing mother!

RETTA -- It is so good to hear from you again. I love your posts!

PATRICIA -- Great to hear you are OK--I hope by "busy" you mean a good kind of busy!

LUDMILA -- Thank you for asking--Grandma is a little weaker, a little more confused but all in all she is holding her own. We go at lunch and dinner to help her eat (turns out she loves mustard right now so we add that to whatever she wants :-) By the way, Ryzik's plant is in second bloom and looking good! You are doing fine with Minka and the kittens. As long as Minka gets her usual amount of affection from you and Uwe, she will eventually get used to the "little pests!" !

CELINNE -- How iz you? A little peep would be much appreciated!!

Hugs to all !

Hello Knutilda - I think I join you and have a Bärenbier, too. Yes, the WC in football starts tomorrow and I'm sure we'll be talking a lot of it here the next weeks. The Football WC is always a gigantic event - you can't avoid reading about it everywhere. Our Waiter is well prepared for the games - you'll see tomorrow....

Dumba - Thank you for the lyrics and the link to the song by Hildegard Knef. She was one of my favourites and it's always nice to listen to a song if you understand what she's singing about. - You'll find my very first story of the Knuipe in the left column - Stories and Dreams/A special night in a Berliner Knuipe. I wrote it in the autumn 2007. Oh my, where did the time go......

Ludmila - Nalle and Mimmi obviously weren't pleased with my making the bed this morning because they had made their own 'version' = everything on the floor :D

Ralph - Everytime I'm watching Lewis on TV I think of a certain guy with lots of bears in Oxford. I must say I find Lewis more sympathetic than Morse who in my opinion was a snob who didn't want to be snob if you know what I mean.

Knuti-Judi - I appreciate the information about Hope and Lily. Danke, Danke, Danke!

Retta - Was it you who tried to stuff the potatoes into the faucet when Eva asked you to wash them? I've been laughing a lot when I recalled what fun we had in the Fireside Café. I really admire Eva's patience with us.....

Drinks are free at table 5!

Luisa

Sorry not to get Birthday greetings to you before, but I have been around.

Just had time to drop into the Knuipe before meeting a friend of mine for a
drink.

I am already planning my Berlin trip, but am not sure when it will be. Unfortunately
I cannot go on the weekend of the 4 September as I have to be in London, so I will
have to go either just before or just after. Then what with BA strikes and volcanos..
Oh dear.
Fortunately I have the lovely pictures and reports on the Knuipe to keep me in the mood.
All the best
Ralph
