Festina lente - hurry slowly - seems to be the slogan for Knuti and Giovanna when they are establishing a relationship. There has been some progress already and both bears look more relaxed having each other around. Knut has been playing ball with the visitors again and who knows - maybe soon there's a two bears' football team!!
Flocke and Raspi have been worried about Knuti and allowed Teddybärenmutti follow their 'rescue operation'. Besides helping Knuti our Raspi has been very creative. Patricia has kindly shared her email exhange with him.

Caren - you are right about Knut and Gianna--it is good to see them beginning the play moves of opening their mouths to each other when close together. And as said on Hartmuth's site, it seems the pumpkin game has played a key role in getting them together!! So get a good night's sleep, tomorrow is another day and I think Bernd is right...

Nuremberg has more than 30 years of experience "producing" cute little polar bears.
With respect to Munich, they won't keep their new enclosure empty, I'am sure. But honestly, I am very happy that with Knut and Giovanna there is developing a close partnership. I think it is a good sign that they take the time to develop the partnership slowly.

Caren - What about Vera? And a mate to come? And then perhaps cubs to come later? Hopefully you will be able to follow a pregnancy and a live cub!! Maybe not next year but soon. In this book I have been reading, it has a note about Nurenberg Zoo being a top producer of polar bear cubs--now this book is older, but in years past they have had one of, if not the best, record of producing cubs that survive to adulthood. Impressive.

Lisa sure looks a lot better doesn't she! We have to be thankful for that (and a little sorry for Troll and Aika!). Also good news about Knut and Gianna--they're getting closer and closer...

that is true and you said before that they have a place which cannot be seen but also the other bears can be outside. For Lisa, I think it is very important to keep moving. The whole situation is not ideal and Hellabrunn is very grateful that Berlin accomodates the Munich Trio.

Caren - It is not good for other bears, but I am happy for Lisa. She was a long time inside.

it would be nice to plan Nuremberg together. From what I saw on Christina's pics I can imagine that it is difficult for Lisa to get in, the climbing seems to be a burden for her. Also in Munich she did not move a lot.

I saw Lisa and I am glad that her eyes look very lively again. From Jens I know that Yogi and Lisa are outside during the day and Aika and Troll during the night. Very difficult to imagine this poor situation.

Caren - I want visit Nuernberg in Januar. It would be my birthday present from Uwe. He was afraid I want to go to Orsa. We have a lot to do at home and ve do not plan any journey till Knuts birthday.

The court dealt with profits of marketing with Knut?s name (film, stamp, coin, jewelry, toys and so on). I know that the newspapers wrote the other things. But Caren is right; the zoos do not own the animals.

Dear TBM, you did exactly the same as I did earlier today. Checking to way and possibilities to travel to Antibes. For me, the travel time is almost similar to the one to Berlin. And with respect to the Summer heath, indeed, that is for me the same problem. I hate such temperatures. But if ever they go there, I must start a money-saving plan to go there. However, they are not there yet !!!
Dear All, as Sarsam already wrote a few days ago, it is good that we can ventilate all our thoughts, feelings and ideas (even if we disagree and this without any hard feelings). By the way, Dear Celinne, also Caribbean girls have all rights of course to adore polar bears. The fact that so far you have not visited them does not exclude you from doing so or from having an own opinion. And actually, we all arrived here as Knut-fans to end as Raspi-admirers. For me, it is simply the normal way of life.
But again, just like Caren, I would prefer to see them in a zoo or a tierpark and not such "sea world".
By the way, today I got a request for an English translation from Flocke blog (which i immediately made of course) and got a very nice "thank you" from the BR-Online team. wie gut, dass wir im Sommer noch zusammen Frl. Flocke und Herrn Raspi besuchen konnten.
Mir schwirren auch so viele Dinge im Kopf herum. Die Bärchen im Knuipekeller zu verstecken ist die beste Idee des TAges.

Ich bin immer noch ausser mich. Ich kam sehr spät nach Hause und habe jetzt mich mit vielen Postings orintieren.
Ich fuhle mich immer noch erschrocken. In meinem Kopf fliegen so viele Fragen.
Ich versuche meine Gedanken irgendwie sortieren.
Hoffentlich kann ich schlafen.
Vielleicht will unsere liebe Bärengrubbe Flocke und Raspi stehlen und in Knuipe verstecken.
Teddybärenarmee ist in Alarm.
Immer noch sehr traurige Tedybärenmutti.
Ps. Ich habe schon geschaut nach der Reisen nach Antibes. Eigentlich träumte ich einmal Antibes zu urlauben. Leider ist es mir heut zu heiss - ich meine im Sommer. Uber 30 Grad am Tage ist total zu viel an so junge Dame wie ich. Und dazu die Hitze.

Just back from work and need to relax.
Thank you everyone for your birthday greetings, I'm very moved.
Mervi - I left my cake to Knut and Gianna, It was such a pleasure to watch the kids eat it and after all they need a lot of calories......
Sarah - you should start a blog about the knusband's " mishaps" hihihi!!!!
Maybe Berndt is the wisest, Flocke and Raspi will be happy on the french Riviera but I think there are so many northern countries which could have welcomed them, it's a pity!
