Dear friends! This is the fifth Christmas we'll be spending together but the first without our beloved Knuti bear. However, I can feel his presence here and when I close my eyes I can even see him. Let's try not be sad but enjoy the Christmas season with our love ones and even with each other in our Knuipe.
There's a special Christmas edition of KWM and I hope there's enough to read and watch for you during the next few days because even the editorial staff needs a couple of days off.

Since I won't be here in the Knuipe Saturday, I want to take this opportunity to wish all of you a very Happy New Year's Eve and Happy New Year! I'm sending all of you "Knuti-style hugs"! Let's hold onto the positives from 2011 and look forward to 2012 being a very good year for all of us and all animals (wild, zoo, park, and companion animals)!

To-day the amusement park Tivoli in Copenhagen closed for the winterseason and the Christmas market with wonderful fireworks (Grand Finale). It was so beautiful. And there was a lot of people there in the cold and clear evening.

We had a nice visit with my cousin...she is
only a few years older than me and we have
been close our whole lives....

TBM - ich trinke ein Goldwasser mit

Ludmila - ich fahre auch draußen im Winter
wenn kein Schnee liegt, dieser Winter ist
bis jetzt sehr gut, soviel bin ich noch

Sie wirken da schon so relativ Teenager-haft - mindestens schon 1 Jahr aelter.
Die Szene an sich hat mich spontan an KNUTi und GIOVANNA (beim Spielen
vom kleinen Pool aus zum Wassergraben und umgekehrt) in KNUT's HeimatGehege errinnert!

MERVI -- Wow! By soon, do you mean the baby is due soon or Goldilocks' mother just found out she is pregnant? In any case, congratulations to all !! Goldilocks will have a sibling to boss around :-)))
LUDMILA -- Great news about Tortoise! It is always a relief when a sick animal finally begins to eat again. I will hide the computer from Chloe so she does not see my remark!! She is quick to take offense at any perceived slight....... :-)
CRISSI -- The good thing is that we can change the color of the marbles from time to time! Gandy also likes to beak things that are hanging down--like strings with paper attached (cat toys), and on occasion a cat's tail that is hanging down...... :-)
