Dear friends! The polar bear birthday season is here again! Although we would love to visit and celebrate each and every one of them we simply can't make it. However, we CAN celebrate them in the best possible way by helping our bear angel to help other bears! There will be more information about this in KWM shortly.

Caren has made a fantastic birthday special for our beloved Raspi who has birthday on 11.11.11!

Good Evening Everyone

Happy Thanksgiving to my American neighbours.

While grocery shopping earlier tonight, I noticed an advertisement from Coca-Cola and my grocery store. For every 12 pack of Coca-Cola product purchased at my grocery store, 25 cents will be donated to the World Wildlife Fund, up to a maximum of $25,000. Coke has even changed their classic red cans to white to show support for the Arctic home of the polar bear.
I will be loading up on Coke products for the holiday season.

There is a huge debate going on here in Waterloo about whether to call the City Hall's tree a Christmas tree or a holiday tree. Political correctness is getting way out of control in my opinion. Many stores are staying away from using "Christmas" in their advertising. I'm not a religious person, but it's still Christmas to me.

Time for a Knutsteiner and a Thanksgiving toast to my neighbours to the South(and north if you count Alaska. Sarah Palin might get upset.)

Good Knight Alle

LuLu is very nice girl and she has a good keeper. It is very good that she has her own mind
The bears have very cute ears. Maybe they look at the ears of the other bear and think: cute and lick
Sarsam
Thank you for the delicious food. I like a cranberry sauce,

Good Evening, Dear Alle!

It was a wonderful evening and we enjoyed the music and the band.

I am sorry if I was starting confusion about Antonias' Birthday. But according to my documentary it was the 24th of December. I know that Anton and Antonia are sibblings via their father and have different mothers and they are born in the same months.
I wish ANTONIA all the best no matter which month her birthday is ;)

With respect to the papers I would also say "CAUTION", one has to be very careful with those reporters most of them do not know about Good Reporting Practice.
I had very bad experiences with the Munich press in Hellabrunn last summer when a reporter stood behind me writing every word I was talking with the keepers and polar bear friends. I told her that if I ever read s.th. about it in public before previous review I would immediately go to my lawyer and claim my rights. They told me that they would refrain from publishing rather than let me review their writing.

Luisa - I am glad you feel a bit better. Please get well again pretty soon.

Eva - I am very happy to read you here again.

Mervi - a book written by s.o. not being from the press would be much better than any article in the papers. You are absolutely right.

I am sending many paw waves and now I hurry to KWM.
Will be back soon with a hot drink, it is extremely cold here!

Teddybärenmutti - At least you tried!! I remember Archie and Edith very well - one of the funniest TV-series ever made in my opinion!

Sarsam - I'm sure there will be a seriously written book sooner or later. I'm also curious to see Gudrun's documentary..... it should be finished soon.

Greetings!

Thank you all for your Happy Thanksgiving wishes! We have had a perfect day weather-wise, lots of good food and now we need to walk a few miles to reduce the bloated tummies :-)

Let's see, I thought I brought you roasted turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, squash, green beans, cranberry sauce, and mince pie, Dutch apple pie......hmmm, all that is left is the green beans and apple cider........

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to all bears who have a birthday today!! Aika, Felix, Nord, Antonia....

MERVI -- Yes, I agree, it is thanksgiving every day in the Knuipe.

LUDMILA -- Of course, I am sure you are right--Anton thinks getting his ear licked is a normal thing!!! Sam and the gang send greetings to Minka and her gang. Chicken was on the cats' menu today.

K-J -- "baby bear don't care" fits LuLu perfectly! I notice that at least a couple of the Louisville Facebook visitors are getting restless about Siku...... Also noticed that Mr. Gomes is a regular visitor--he is keeping watch on LuLu :-)

LUDMILA, PATRICIA, MERVI, DUMBA and all -- I do not disagree with your assessment of the newspaper's request for Knut stories. I find it very sad, though. I think a book written by an "appropriate" unbiased person would be such a good read and an inspiration. Can you imagine such a book written by CELINNE, for example.......

RALPH -- I cannot remember if I wished your Mother Ursula a happy birthday on Nov. 22--if not, I hereby rectify the mistake!! Happy Birthday Mother Ursula--you are to be congratulated on raising a fine, caring son.

FILOMENA -- Meows and greetings to you, Mimi and El Tigre!

LUISA -- Wonderful to hear from you and to hear that the treatment is beginning to help!

Paw waves and hugs to all..............Semper Knut!

So große Vögel im Ofen sind sehr kompliziert.... :D

Mervi - ich liebe Antonia, sie hat so ein süßes Gesicht,
natürlich weiss ich, dass sie auch ein Raubtier ist.... ;)

To all our American Friends!
HAPPY THANKS GIVING DAYS!

Dear Ewa!
Thank you so much for wonderful dinner.

I´ll try to tell You something.
About 20-30 years ago turkeys were very seldom here. We had only turkeys dinner seen in cinema or in TV. Then I found suddenly freezen turkeys in supermarket. Oh, oh, now We have at weekend something very delicious.
Ididt´n found any recipes for turkey preparing in finnish cookbooks. So what´s to do.
I remembered, how Edith Banker ( yoy remembers the TV-Serie (here The family is the worst, with Archie and Edith Banker) made the Thank´s Giving Turkey.

At least, my mastercooking a´la Edith .. awfull. TBV said... paper is more delicioius.
Also today TBV don´t want to eat turkey.

Perhaps i must visit Eva´s Cooking-Academy.

Bea - I'm feeling very travel feverish already. Have you started packing?

Knuti-Judi - Snow Lily looks wonderful. Wouldn't it be nice if there will be sweet music between her and Willy?!

Crissi - Little Antonia is such a lovely bear. Thanks for the photo!

Dumba, Patricia - I wasn't especially surprised when I saw what the paper made of the Knut friends. The so called journalists have never had a clut what this was - and is - all about!

Teddybärenmutti - Stella Knutis, I like that!

Dear Mervi, do no longer care about this unpleasant experience. At least, you were able to express your love for a young polar bear. It was only the other party who was not having the ability to understand and to respect these feelings. Where your feelings were pure and innocent, theirs were just nuts!
But just like Eva wrote, ?the love and companionship of each other and being a part of The Knuipe is our blessing?. And this already for a few years.

EVA and KNUDY
Sounds very cosy at your end - would like we could all be together
and be thankful what we had and partially still have, laugh together, eat together, drink together, make little walks with ALL the pets! What wonderful DREAM this is!

EVA, it's very good that YOU are spoilt to day by your loved ones!
However, I have to admit, I am a bit disappointed we have to miss
your excellent plates today ;-)

MERVI
I am very sorry to hear of this upeasant experience. I can very well imagine, how much that must have hurt and disppointed you.
One of the SOFT KNUTi-style hugs for you.

BÄRGIT
Also a soft KNUTi-style hug goes to your way, where ever you are at the moment.

LUDMILA
Danke fuer die Aufklaerung.
'Sighboard' ist schoen - so etwas koennten wir leider alle gelegentlich und immer wieder gebrauchen - so eine Art private 'Klagemauer' ;-)

PATRICIA ROBERTS
Unfortunately, I am afraid, I have to agree with you.
Were there somebody, we could really trust in (e.g. our appreciated former ADMIN DORO), may be it would be kind of fun and joy to write our own "KNUT-story", which also could be published - after everybody had read it and given its OK - in a summery, that's all the stories, one after the other in whatsoever kind of presentation. . . (?)..
I feel also as if the newspapers take us or at least some of us for rather naiv or even stupid enough to 'make their work' . . . out of which they just can pick and choose - and put it together in a way one doesn't recognize ones own words afterwards . . .May be I judge some unjust . . .

I remember well a so called "journalist" (at the occasion of the remembering KNUT at the visitors' window in April which should have been a PRIVATE thing in addition!) who had the nerve to give us/me 'orders' in such tone of voice as if we/I were/was his employee/s . . . . grrrr I was just too astonished to oppose in that moment, the more I got angry when I thought later about that behaviour . . .
