Another big event is about to take place in Vancouver - the Olympic Winter Games 2010. I think in the case of orca shows that they were allowed because of money. See World and Loro parque invested a lot of money for the pools for orcas.

Good morning Dear All, So, weekend is coming closer now, it just takes a little effort to make it through Friday.
I know that I have already told this, but, really, if ever you have some time, please take a look at Lily the black bear. Her cubbie is now more and more looking like a bear and it is sooooo cute. But also, it is a real "bleiterken". Reminds me of Milak.
Dear Ludmila, I agree, shows with orcas are indeed not a right thing. And I do not understand why it was allowed to continue doing shows with him considering the negative experiences with this killer whale in the past.
Dear Dave, "when you were a teenager - long before car was invented" : WAW, I am impressed, that must be loooong time ago because I remember from the cartoons that even Fred Flintstone was already having one (hihihihi).
And now back to business.

Mervi - Congrats on the hockey victories. Canada's women's team meets the U.S. for gold tonight and the men's team plays Slovakia tomorrow. Good luck against the Americans on Friday. We may see that Can./Fin. gold medal final yet.
I was watching the Can/Rus game last night and fell asleep before the end of the game. When I woke up Finland was 0-0 against Czech Rep. in the third, but I fell asleep again. Woke up at 3:30am and went to bed. Had to get up at 7:00AM to go to my brother's to pick up my nephew and drive him to school for 8:45AM.
Patricia - The weather in my area has been un-Canadian this year. So far we have had only 2 substantial snowfalls - but we are expecting another 20cm tonight. The temperatures have been fairly normal though. Usually between 0C and -10C. When I was a teenager - before the car was invented
