Dear friends, believe it or not but it was two years ago our Knuipe opened its door! The exact date is the 25th of January but the Waiter insisted that we will celebrate the whole week. He also wanted to have a new picture on this thread because he wants everybody to know that the food is always properly quality controlled ... as if we didn't already know that!

I have made a page with a sample of the large number of collages during the last two years. Maybe they will bring back some memories.....

LUDMILA -- Whoops, forgot to answer the second part of your post--that is a great idea of your daughter's! Will she set a time limit on the cats getting the food? I know Chloe would win hands down in this event--she is a BIG eater--she eats her food and everyone else's food that isn't protected!! And she has a very sneaky little paw that comes out and forks food out of other cat's bowls....

LUDMILA -- Well, Gandy usually bathes by himself, but sometimes he wants a little shower too! He can walk on the stub but he limps badly (mostly because the leg/stub is shorter than the good leg and foot. We have a rug with a soft rubber pad underneath by his mirror so he can be more comfortable. And his carrying cage is a big dog crate--I put pine shavings on the bottom and cover that with a good layer of sweet meadow hay. He really likes this (when the door is open!) and will sit in the cage for long periods at home while he watches the cats and us. Of course the door is open so he can go in and out of the cage as he wishes.

As Caren said: please be careful. We try to do our best on the roads too. Our weather is strange. Yesterday was about -12°C in the morning, in the evening it was about 2°C. Now it is about 0°C and a bit snow. The roads are slippery.
It is very funny how you do a bath for Gandy. Can Gandy going or jumping on one foot?
The problem with the fur has Ryzik too. In the last time it is a bit better as he goes outside.
Our neighbour black cat comes often to our patio door. If Minka sees him, she begins to crying. She is a clever cat, but she can not understand that the black cat is no danger through a glass door. Ryzik comes to her and looks.
My daughter has curs in biology about the animal behavior. She has to do a research. She wants to build a simply equipment, where she can hide a food and then let each cat try to get the food. Minka and Ryzik will participate too.

Well, Ludmila, painting is no good outside in the snow. He will re-start that business again when he is in southern France. He said, people need perfect wheels now on icy and snowy roads.

Sarsam - is Gandy's foot better now? Please be careful on the icy roads

Hello!

Changeable weather here--snowy blizzard, sunshine, snow and tonight temperature going down to ~-10 C with icy roads.

LUDMILA -- The beasties are all fine! Gandy had a nice bath today--he requested that I give him a shower (with a spray bottle). He sat in his dishpan of water with both legs thrown back and preened his feathers while I squirted water on him! Ebony is going into serious fur shedding which means trying to keep the fur-balls away! Sam, Sarah and Chloe are trying to keep up their "chores" of watching the birds eat, keeping Ebony "in her place," and complaining about Two-Paws being at the basement door yelling for fooood!

I think Raspi needs something more soft and mainly pink for Flocke. The tire is a thing for the men. Raspi has to go shopping again. How is with his painting?

Ludmila - I see your strategy, very wise! Yes, I saw the photos of the overactive Giovanna.
If Raspi is using the heart-shaped tyre for a Valentine's present, it is the best he can give to Flocke. He loves his tyre....

I do not sure about only one day, but I do not want to stress Uwe now. We go first to USA for competition, then we will go to USA for about ten days for a round trip next to Los Angeles. If we came home, I will plan our Berlin trip. We can go per car.
Did you see the pictures of Giovanna at Hartmuth? The girl was very active.
Celinne
Did you see how busy our Raspi is? I think he is arranging a heart for Flocke from a truck tire. Maybe the zoo would give him something more suitable for the Valentins present.

Ludmila - that's a nice pic of Ryzik. He will be out because the party which was cancelled yesterday may be going on tonight.
And you solved the problem with Dumba's problem most certainly. You are an expert!
Are you sure, to come just for the one day? :D
The second address Mervi posted is okay, there was no mail from the delivery system. So it must still be valid.

Good evening folks!
I am very sad and angry about Iceland. In previous year I sent the angry mail because of the shot polar bears. I search for the e-mail address again.
Patricia, Bea
I wish you a nice weekend together.
Dumba
I changed my picture in profile now. You click first on Edit Profile, than you have to load the picture from your PC. If you will use a picture from Internet, you have to copy the picture to your PC first and then load as your profile picture.
Caren
I am looking forward to see your report.
Mervi
How is the weather at Malmö? Do you have much snow? What are Mimmi and Nalle doing?
TBM
Lass uns etwas zusammen trinken. Entspanne Dich nach den vielen Formularen.
Sarsam
Do you have a cold weather too? How are your animals? We have a bit new snow, it is about 0°C. Minka was for a short time outside and is at home again. Ryzik is still outside. Yesterday he came already about 10p.m. home. It was snowfall and I think the party was canceled. His back was icy and he stunk as wet dog.
Alex
Dein Vorschlag ist gut. Ich werde sehen, was sich machen lässt. Wir wollten nur für einen Tag kommen.

Dear Sarsam, indeed, it is the same keeper, the one who was according to some people not able to take good care and was rough to young elephants. When you watch the video, the only thing I can see is how gentle he is caring for this baby. And how proud he is!!!

Hi, folks. I take a big cup of tea, but without alcohol, please. Alex, gern geschehen. Man lernt immer wieder neu dazu.

Herr Ober! Bitte nur etwas. Egal was. Knusecco.

Last time they shot polar bears in Iceland I sent emails telling them what I think about this cruel killing. Here are the adresses if you want to write, too. I'm not 100% sure that the persons are still there but I'm giving it a try anyway.

Patricia - I feel the same fury as you and I'm sure everybody else here! Why do they always have to kill when there are other solutions available. So sad, so sad....

PATRICIA -- I share your anger, frustration and sadness. Your method of justice is a little less than they deserve, however. Is it not wonderful, though, that we can come here to the Knuipe and express our anger and sadness among friends who understand.

PATRICIA #2 -- Thanks for getting the Lily link to work. Also thank you much for the Rotterdam link--I did not have that. And last but not least, thank you VERY MUCH for your article on the baby elephants--my husband sends his regards to you and thanks you also--great video!! By the way, isn't that Keeper the one that was in the videos of the elephants at the Tierpark a couple of years ago???
