First your CCC-weather report:
Obviously a thaw has set in during the night. I am afraid, the wonderful winter weather is over now and we will get the ugly part of winter again, wet and chilly, such, old bones will ache! But no reason to complaint. Near to two weeks we had uninteruptedly SUN!
Do you remember the "GorgeousGuy" that was presented at "12:48 PM on February 08, 2012"? In the meantime I got to know that his name is "LYUTIK" - another interesting INUIT (I guess) polar bear name - and that his home is "The Alaska Zoo" :-)

CELINNE - Thank you for always trying to give direct and/or indirect support to people who care about animals, 'living' in sometimes more than bad living conditions. I cross my fingers at least some CAN and WILL give you/the courageous Greek lady some of the help urgently needed.

Greetings All Kuipians,
I come with big bear hugs for all. I also wanted to say thank you to Ludmila for posting that link to the Greek animal shelter that was flooded out and looted. The young lady who brought it to my attention is Greek herself. She has been rescuing and helping to find good homes for stray cats that have been abandoned or neglected. She has limited money and is not working but she extends herself to help these unfortunate cats. She pays for their vet bills and food and looks around until she finds a suitable home for them, which is very hard because many Greeks cannot afford to take care of animals right now because of their financial circumstances. She refuses to accept money and is a very compassionate and gentle person.
Recently she rescued a dying cat from the streets and took him to the vet, so he could spend his last hours in dignity. She has also rescued a stray tomcat that was being beaten up by other strays and has him living with her, in her small place, until she can get a good home for him. Her neighbours are not favour of her actions so she has to deal with their anger.
She has vouched for the integrity of this shelter and the people who run it. As you are aware, they are taking care of over 130 stray dogs and cats and about 20 puppies and receive no help from the gov't. When their shelter was flooded out and thieves looted the animals' food, the woman who runs the shelter felt overwhelmed and traumatized - and all of us who love and rescue animals know that feeling so well. Please help in any way you can. Even a few Euros will be welcome and the PayPal link via the "Chip in" is secure. If you can't help financially, circulate the information to others and keep sending positive thoughts to these brave people.

Hello folks! Today we decided to do our weekend shopping today right after work. The weather forecast is promising (or threatening?) snow tomorrow. Shopping on a Friday afternoon is pure torture and if it really will snow tomorrow the chaos and torture will be total. Well, finally I came here and now I'm just going to relax!

Leider hat mich dann mein Compi so lange aufgehalten, bis ich keine Lust mehr hatte, und unangekuendigt bin ich auch nicht mehr gegangen, obwohl heute Morgen alles schoen verschneit war und danach sogar einmal die Sonne schien.
