Since I was born in the good old stone age I remember a song called 'Nights in White Satin' by Moody Blues and I thought a little traversion would make a nice headline for this thread. Do you remember that song, too? Anyway, this week's theme is snow because we're having a very white winter almost everywhere. The winners are our dear white, fluffy friends who have been able to enjoy their original element for weeks now.
The four-leaf-glover have, of course, been very creative and innovative as always. Teddybärenmutti has been their secretary again and the co-operation resulted in a new story:

Hello friends! This week's theme is appetite but not just appetite for food and drink. I wish we all have a very healthy appetite for LIFE!
There's also a little story (in English, Auf Deutsch) to go with this theme:
The Mystery of the Lost Appetite/Das Geheimnis des Appetit-Verlustes

Dear friends, believe it or not but it was two years ago our Knuipe opened its door! The exact date is the 25th of January but the Waiter insisted that we will celebrate the whole week. He also wanted to have a new picture on this thread because he wants everybody to know that the food is always properly quality controlled ... as if we didn't already know that!
I have made a page with a sample of the large number of collages during the last two years. Maybe they will bring back some memories.....

The new year has started with lots of snow and cold weather almost everywhere in Europe, USA and Canada. Our white fluffy friends are enjoying their white surroundings dancing in the snow. The theme of this thread is music - we can hardly wait the concerts coming soon. I've heard a duetto for two cats but never before a duetto for a bear and a cat.....
Our thoughtful bear team has also been busy giving some good advice to us about how to keep the cold away. Teddybärenmutti was allowed to take notes:
Einige Tipps gegen Kälte/How to keep the cold away

Hello friends! Another beary year is soon over and we're looking forward to a new, wonderful year 2010. I want to thank all the writers and visitors for making the Knuipe a very special place for us all. We have shared both happy and sad moments during the year but that's what life is. Fortunately the bright moments always outshine the black moments. I wish you all a Happy New Year! May Knut be with you!
There's, of course, a new story from Teddybärenmutti:
We could have danced all night

Believe it or not but it's Christmas time again! Knuti and Gianna are very excited waiting for Santa Claus .... or maybe rather Santa Gudrun coming with her 'bollerwagen'!
I wish you all a Merry Christmas!
There are lots of funny stuff by Caren, Celinne, Patricia and Teddybärenmutti, enjoy!

After a wonderful weekend in Bärlin we're back in the normal - well, as normal as life can be for the Wild Herd.
Flocke and Raspi are eagerly waiting for Santa Claus just like Knuti, Gianna, Wilbär, Ewa, Nanook, Arctos, Milak and all the other bear boys and girls. I hope all their wishes will come true!
You've been wondering why we are giggling when we say or write the word 'teuer'. Teddybärenmutti has now given you an explanation. I think this is already a classic:

Are we cute or are we cute??? Even Knuti and Gianna have noticed that the 1st Advent is here and of course, they've lit the first candle. Next weekend will be the highlight of the year - then we'll gather in Bärlin to celebrate the most beautiful bear in the world.Miracles DO happen!
Knuti has also written a little something for you:

Hello friends! Yes, our fluffy white bears are having birthdays almost every day now and of course, we'll try to celebrate each and every one properly! The high light is as always Knuti's special day on the 5th of December when lots of fans are going to Bärlin. I can already feel the excitement in the air....
This week Teddybärenmutti has received a letter from Wilbär:
Grüsse aus Orsa/Greetings from Orsa

Dear friends, at the moment I'm mourning my lovely cat Miffe and have no strength or energy to be very active or creative. I need your help! Please, don't hesitate to send me articles and photos you think could be published in Knutitours or in Knuti's Weekly. Everything counts!
I'm trying to look forward to Knuti's birthday. I'm sure it will help me to focus - at least temporarily - on something else than my own sadness.
Once again I want to thank you all for your warm, comforting greetings to Vesa and me. They have been such a great consolation for us.
Bear hugs to you all from Mervi
Since we have a new thread there's also a new story. Raspi-patatje has contacted Patricia and you can see the result here:

This week's thread is dedicated to a very special lady - our beloved Oma Lisa. The Waiter, Gianna, Flocke, Raspi and all the visitors in the Knuipe wish her all the best and hope the problems she's been having lately will be solved soon. We alos send our best greetings to all the loving zoo keepers in Munich and Berlin.
It's not easy to be a young polar bear but it isn't so easy to be an elderly lady bear either - just read Grandma Lisa's letter which she wrote with a little help from Teddybärenmutti and Caren:

Our Herr Ober wanted to have this lovely photo of his papa Lars on this thread. He's so happy after hearing Lars is doing just fine in Wuppertal. Now our favourite waiter can concentrate on h his own business .... or should we say 'affair'?
Of course, there's a little story, too.

I hope you have all recovered from the chock after hearing Flocke and Raspi will be moving to France. However, we don't have to say goodbye because they will always be here with us just like Knuti and Gianna. Dear friends, we are going to have lots of fun - the Halloween is coming, then a number of birthdays, Christmas, New Year .....how are we able to sleep between the parties?
Teddybärenmutti and Caren have made a new story about Flocke's and Raspi's help mission:

Festina lente - hurry slowly - seems to be the slogan for Knuti and Giovanna when they are establishing a relationship. There has been some progress already and both bears look more relaxed having each other around. Knut has been playing ball with the visitors again and who knows - maybe soon there's a two bears' football team!!
Flocke and Raspi have been worried about Knuti and allowed Teddybärenmutti follow their 'rescue operation'. Besides helping Knuti our Raspi has been very creative. Patricia has kindly shared her email exhange with him.

Dear friends! The 'love affair' in the Berlin Zoo hasn't been developing quite as we had hoped but there's still plenty of time so let's keep an optimistic mind. I think this photo by Viktor tells all about Knuti's confusion. Sweet Knuti Pie - everything will turn out fine - you just wait and see!
Of course, we have a story, too - a thriller superior to every movie by Hitchcock! Patricia wrote it in English and Ludmila kindly translated it to German. Here we go:

Dear friends! The loooong waiting is over! King Knuti has finally met her bearal fluffiness Princess Giovanna. I guess tears have been running while we've been watching tha photos and videos of the lovely teenagers. I wish Knuti and Giovanna many happy moments together!
There has also been a family meeting in Berlin. Oma Lisa visited her son Lars and his ladies. You can read all about it here:

We don't have to wait anymore. Giovanna is here! Welcome dear Signorina to our wonderful bear world! We all wish you best of luck in Berlin and a happy life - hopefully with Knuti.
This week we have no new story but the 4-leaf clover arranged a video concert with their Italian favourites. Beautiful songs....but almost anything sounds beautiful when it's sang in Italian language!

They say that waiting for something good is half of the fun but I doubt it....We are all so excited!! Let's keep our fingers crossed that we'll soon see a cheerfully playing couple in Berlin just like we see Flocke & Raspi, Lara & Bill and Eva & Wilbär!
Sometimes it's dangerous to be a young, pretty girl. You can read about this in Teddybärenmutti's thrilling story:

What a thrilling week we've had and what thrilling times we have ahead us! Signorina Giovanna has arrived in Berlin! Let's hope the first 'real' meeting between Knuti and la Ragazzina will go smoothly and they'll like each other. Maybe it will be love at first sight.....
Of course, our trojka arranged a grandious welcome party for her! You can read about it here:

Dear friends, soon - very soon it's time for many of us to pack our suitcases and take off to Berlin! What a meeting it's going to be! Seeing our Knuti 'live' and meeting all the Knuti fans.....almost too good to be true but it IS true! Let's see, what do we need? Airline/train tickets, euros and the annual tickets to the zoo....oh yes, clothes are quite important, too....and comfortable shoes! Are you ready?
Teddybaerenmutti has now written the last part of the trojka's vacation in Bavaria:
